Autumn Chasson has appeared in multiple episodes of Days of Our Lives. She has modeled for multiple companies, done commercial work, and her theatrical resume includes an episode of Dave and the upcoming feature film Sweet Dreams.

1. How do you prepare for auditions? Do you like in person or self tapes more?
How I prepare for auditions is first I like to get to know how a character is, and really seeing what their point of view is and how they are acting and what they are feeling. Then I worry about the big stuff, the lines and the actions. Sometimes it gets really stressful, but I try to calm myself down and tell myself I’m great at this, I can do this, I can do this but sometimes it doesn’t really end well. Most of the time I get it and I get hyped up and I can just do this. I personally like in person auditions better because I like to learn about the other person and really see if the director is there…kind of feeling what they’re feeling and seeing if they wanted me to make changes so I can be better at it. I do like self tapes more because I feel like then I’m surrounded by my parents or my mom or my sister because then I’m more comfortable and if I don’t like the self tape I did before then I can always retake it. But…I do like in person better I think.

2. What was your experience like working for Hannah Banana? Do you have a favorite look you did for them?
I LOVED working for Hannah Banna! It was so much fun, I got to meet so many new friends. I loved that it was kind of like a whole adventure, everyone going on an adventure just to take a photo, but it was so amazing, I got to meet so many new people. I love all of the looks I’ve done for them, but one look I just loved so much…there’s this black plaid dress…and it’s so pretty, I love it so much! It’s classy, but then it’s also casual, it’s like really unique. I literally bought probably from the size 8 to the size 12, I got all of the sizes I could possibly have, just in case I get bigger I will always have the dress.

3. How did you enjoy working for Shein?
I loved working for Shein, so much fun! My sisters actually showed me Shein before I worked with them, and then when I realized I was working with them I got so pumped and so excited because I love their clothes and I still love their clothes. The one thing about it was that it was very calm and like chill, which I liked about it, where it wasn’t loud, I could probably do my homework and just read a book. But then also I was socializing, it wasn’t like me sitting there and waiting for it to be my turn. It was like really fun still and I met a lot of new friends.

4. What was your time on set like working on the holiday episode/film for Days of Our Lives?
I was so excited once I learned that Days of Our Lives was a soap opera. I was going crazy, I was so excited. It was really fun working for Days of Our Lives. The holiday episode it was so so so pretty, all the decorations. We got to decorate cookies and we even got to eat them. It was so much fun, I got to meet so many new friends which I loved about it. The crazy thing was was that I watch soap operas with my mom, it’s really funny, and I literally was picturing myself, I’m literally watching myself now. I was so excited!

5. How different was working on a soap compared to other projects you have done?
Well from a soap opera to a commercial or modeling or a TV show or a movie…it really depends on the movie and whatever it is. I feel like soap operas are more surrounded by older people and most older people watch it, so I feel like it’s more of not a slower show, most people are not going to be laughing their head off, but working with a commercial some people make you laugh and some it makes you hyper. For other things I’m so pumped and excited and expressive, but for soap operas it’s more dialed down.

6. What do you like most about being in the recording studio?
I like most about being in a recording studio, I feel like when you’re in it, I feel like when you talk everyone is listening to you. Sometimes when you’re just talking to somebody most of the time they’re not listening to you, they’re just going “un hunh, un hunh, un hunh.” When you’re in the recording studio and you have the microphone you’re the boss, you’re talking they’re listening. I have to say I love having the spotlight, I love being listened to for once, and just being heard.

7. Where has been one of your favorite locations to work at and why?
I love a lot of locations, but I love working in Beverley Hills because Beverly Hills wherever like studio I’m working in, after I’m done it’s always so much fun to go shopping. Also, Beverly Hills, I feel like Beverly Hills it’s cute but then it’s fun. The only thing with Hollywood, sometimes Hollywood scares me. Like when we’re coming in the people give you weird looks sometimes and sometimes the people in Hollywood they’re not very nice, so sometimes I don’t really like Hollywood. But Beverly Hills is probably my number one, I don’t know, it’s just calm, but it’s also like fun, it’s a mix of both.

8. Being the youngest in a family of actors/models what has been the best advice your siblings have given you?
Well, they’ve given me a lot of advice, but I think the top one of the advice they have given me is even if you lose to one audition there’s still many to come and you have to keep giving your all for each one. If you don’t then sometimes you’re just not going to get it and even though they know you are passionate about this, they believe in you, and every audition is every opportunity you have so try and try because one day you’re going to get something big and you’re going to book it. It’s going to be the best, it’s going to make you famous, it’s going to make you confident, always stay confident!

9. Career wise, who is your biggest role model?
My biggest role model…I love everybody…Jennifer Anniston, she’s probably one of my biggest role models because she’s been on shows and movies that I really like. The one thing I like most about her is that when she acts she really goes deep into the character and finds out who the character is and what they believe. I’ve seen videos of just her talking she’s a like a careful person but I don’t know…in some movies she’s like the bratty one and she does it AMAZING, I don’t know how she does that.

10. Is there anything you can share about your role in Sweet Dreams?
So my role in Sweet Dreams, I was Johnny Knoxville’s daughter, Sofie, and about my role I feel like I’m a little bit nervous because hey I thought I was never going to see my Dad again. But then at the end I feel like I got hyped up and I just got really excited that my Dad’s coming back home to me. The one thing that was a little bit tricky with my role is that I didn’t know what it’s like to not have a mom because I have my mom, and my dad, and I’m surrounded by people that have moms and I’m so used to being around my mom. So it was a little bit hard for me to soak into that not having a mom and not saying “oh mom want to go for a walk with me?” So it was a little bit tricky in the beginning, but then I got into it and I think I did a pretty good job if I do say so myself.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
One thing I’d like to add is just always stay confident about yourself, never give up. Even if you’re different, even if like you’re face is bigger or you’re bigger than that person or you’re smaller than that person, you’re shorter, your differences is what makes you unique and what’s gonna make you go through and gonna make you a famous person. Even though you’re not up to the top yet doesn’t mean you’re not going to get up there, so always believe in yourself.
