2021 – Madeleine Valencia

Madeleine Valencia is a young actress from New York. Recently she has been seen for Target, in an episode of Only Murders in the Building, and more!

1. What did you enjoy the most about working for Target?
I love trying on clothes and finding fun ways to bring attention to the details, like a frilly sleeve or wide leg pants..it’s part of the fun! Since it was catalog type stuff for the website I was photographed in tons of outfits.

2. Do you have a favorite look you did for your shoots with them?
One of my favorites was a green jumpsuit. I liked it so much that I bought it.

3. What inspires you to pursue music as well?
I have always liked singing and began training professionally about 4 years ago. It’s fun to go back and watch old videos to see how much different I sound! I would like to be a recording artist like Selena Gomez. She acts and also sings. I see my career being similar.

4. What was the experience like being a part of A Little Princess?
It was great! It was my first time being around true “Theater kids” Prior to that I had mainly done commercials and modeling, I really enjoyed the stage.

5. Do you have a favorite part of doing live theater?
My favorite part is the feeling of being a family with the cast.

6. How did you react to finding out you booked Only Murders in the Building as a Young Selena Gomez?
I have always been told I looked like her. Since I was very little. So – to be compared enough to play Selena Gomez as a child was just the most amazing thing ever.

7. What was your time on set like shooting your episode?
I enjoyed every minute. I met Selena Gomez, got a couple of hugs from her and shared the soundstage with her in one scene, so I got to watch her work. I would love to go back to Season 2! I am a recurring character-so you never know!

8. What did you do to celebrate watching it when it was released?
We had the family over, and cut a cake with my photo on it with a very comical large knife that looked out of a murder mystery.

9. Who have been some of your favorite people to work with recently?
Um, Selena Gomez. It’s going to be hard to top that for a while!

10. What are your career goals for 2022?
My goals for 2022 are to write some songs, model more, do a giant commercial that airs during the super bowl, book an animation voice over, become a better singer, possibly produce an album and book a series regular or lead on a show or feature film…filmed in New York would be outstanding – but I’m not picky. I know, Big goals! It’s important to be specific!
