Star-Kidz

Evan Dodge is a young actor and model who has worked in both the New York and Los Angeles markets. He has been seen for Carter’s, Gymboree, and did the film American Skin. Of course one of the coolest jobs ever was working for Atomic Creamery and all their ice cream!

1. Are there any big differences between auditioning or working in LA compared to NYC?
I don’t really remember a lot of going down to NYC to audition but taking the train and spending the day in NYC was always a lot of fun. It is still my favorite city. My mom always tries to make going up to LA fun as well as it’s a long ride for us in the car.

2. What was the coolest part of shooting for Atomic Creamery?
The best part of shooting for Atomic Creamery is obviously getting to eat all of the ice cream! They literally make the best ice cream in the world! We get to choose whatever we want when we are there and they are the nicest people ever.

3. What was your time on set like working for Carter’s?
Working for Carter’s was fun! It was great to be one of the older kids for once! It felt like I was working with my cousins. I always make new friends while on set.

4. How did you enjoy your Gymboree shoot?
Gymboree was a blast. Especially when we got to have a water balloon fight on set. I worked for them for a whole week. They also had cookies that were HUGE!

5. What did it feel like seeing your image up in their stores?
It’s always crazy to see my picture in stores or online. It’s great to see my work come to life.

6. Do you prefer acting or modeling?
I prefer modeling. Acting is fun too but I love seeing my picture up in stores.

7. What was your experience like working on the film American Skin?
Working for American Skin was super cool. Nate Parker was so nice and took time out to discuss my scene and where he wanted to go with it. The entire cast and crew were so welcoming and awesome.

8. Did you do anything special to watch your part in the movie?
We watched my movie at home with my family. It’s violent at times and has adult themes but we discussed the film together.

9. Who have been some of your favorite people to work with recently?
I’ve been taking some time off to focus on soccer and friends. I’m finishing my last year of elementary school and can’t wait for Middle School next year.

10. Do you have a favorite project you’ve done?
My favorite jobs have been working for Lands End and Gymboree.
