2019 – Paris Newton

Paris Newton is the younger sister of Gracen Newton who appeared on General Hospital. This year she can be seen as Franny Gallagher on the hit show Shameless.

1. How did you get started acting?
My big brother Gracen is an actor and I loved watching him on TV and getting to go audition all the time. So when I was 3 years old, I started begging my parents to let me do it too and they finally agreed! I have loved it ever since 🙂

2. What was the experience like having your very first audition?
My first audition was for a commercial and although it was super fun it was also very hard! I was 3 years old at the time and I was the only girl in the room that wasn’t a twin or triplet! I didn’t book the commercial but I still had a lot of fun auditioning for it.

3. Does Gracen ever help you prepare?
Oh yeah, Gracen is my coach! Whenever I get dialogue or a big audition, he learns the lines with me and shows me what I should do and teaches me how to act it! He is an amazing big brother who is always cheering me on!!

4. What was your first day on set like for Shameless?
Being on set for the first time was like a dream come true! I had seen my brother be on TV and was so excited to get a chance to do it too! Shameless has an amazing cast and crew, so they were very welcoming and made it a great experience!

5. Was anything special done to watch your scenes from your first episode?
Whenever me or my brother have a show airing, my whole family makes a big night of it and everyone comes over to watch! It’s so much fun getting to see all your hard work come out on TV and your family getting to celebrate with you!

6. How did you react to being brought back for another season?
Oh I was so excited to be asked back for another season! I love my Shameless family!

7. What is the best part of working with Emma Kenney?
Emma Kenney is not only an amazing actress but she is an incredible person! When we film, I’m normally on set with her while my real mommy is watching the cameras outside the set. Emma always takes care of me on set. She makes sure I get water if I’m thirsty, she always makes me feel safe, and she makes every scene so much and always makes me laugh! I couldn’t ask for a better TV mommy!

8. How do you like working with Christain Isaiah?
I love it!! Christian is so talented and so much fun! I have learned so much from working with him! When we aren’t filming, he is always playing with me! He just had a new movie come out in theaters and I am so proud of my buddy!

9. What is one of the funniest things to happen while you were working?
Emma Kenney showed me Instagram when I was working with her and after that I wanted to do a Instagram Story to be like Emma! After set one day, I tried doing an Instagram story with my brother and he was taping me. I was just standing on a bed talking to Instagram and as soon as I said “Hi Guys” I tripped over myself and completely fell off the bed! I was okay but we couldn’t stop laughing!

10.Is there a favorite moment or scene that you have gotten to be part of on the show?
I loved getting to be apart of the scene where we got to welcome the newest baby Gallagher to the family in season 10 episode 1! It was a very special scene! Season 10 is going to be an amazing season and I hope you tune it and experience it all with us!
