2019 – Jazlynn Belle

Jazlynn Belle is the younger sister of Jyllina Skye. She has worked on short films, done print and commercial work, and was seen on an episode of Jane the Virgin this year!

1. What has the experience been like working on Hannah?
It was so cool! I got to play two roles, Hannah and a role I can’t say without giving too much away. I can’t wait to see this one! I had to best time on set and everyone was so nice. The funny thing about Hannah is that its some of the same people from my sister’s movie Prescience. Jacob Kiesling cast me without even realizing I am Jyllina’s sister.

2. Do you do anything particular to get into character?
I try to focus and stay in my own head and not listen to outside noises. For big auditions I sometimes listen to music to tune out the rest of the world.

3. What was the best part of working alongside your brother for Fairmont Miramar?
We were cast via Facetime which was a first for both of us. Working for Fairmont was definitely and experience. They put us in one of their suites for holding and to be able to change and hair and makeup. We got to ride down to the beach in a jeep and experience their concierge service and play in the sand and in the ocean. It didn’t feel like work at all.

4. What was your time on set like working on the music video for Rule the World?
For the video Rule the World I play young Giselle Torres. Giselle and her mom are sooooo nice! We filmed for two days. We arrived early to set on day one at YouTube spaces in LA and Giselle’s mom let me go into the studio where Giselle was already filming one of her scenes so I could watch her. The song is so catchy we always play it in our house all the time. I really look up to Giselle she has achieved so much and she is so young. We still stay in touch with Giselle and her mom. They cast me later on in their show 5 @ 305, I play Young Cayetana.

5. How did you enjoy working on your Shimmer and Shine commercial?
Shimmer and Shine was so fun because I got to work with my whole family, minus Jyllina. My dad did several takes of throwing the orange for me to catch and in the commercial it looks like the dragon throws it to me. We were pretending to make school lunches. Its such a fun commercial to watch.

6. When filming your Milkita commercial what was it like to work with a green screen?
That was my first time on a green screen. It was a bit confusing but the director was really nice and did a great job of explaining to me what it was going to look like in the end.

7. How did you react seeing yourself on the Chewbacca box for Cub Coats?
OH MY GOSH! That was the best surprise ever! It was even better when I discovered Chris Pratt holding the box that I’m on. My brother is on the Mickey Mouse box and the Darth Vader box.

8. What was the best part about being on Jane the Virgin?
The best part is the friendships that I made. I love getting to work with other kids because you get to make friends that last for life. I am home schooled now and one thing I don’t like about homeschooling is how much I miss my friends.

9. Do you do anything special when watching your episodes air on TV for the first time?
We tell my Grandpa and Grandma that live in NY and they get to watch first and tell us what they thought before we even get to see it.

10. What has been your favorite project to work on and why?
Well this question brings a surprise answer, only my family and a few people know this yet. I got to work on the show Black Monday and I got to meet Don Cheadle!!!! I am a huge Avenger fan so that week was the best week of my life! It’s a super cool episode with lots of surprises, you for sure won’t want to miss it!
