2019 – Ainsley Crouse

Ainsley Crouse is an actress and model from New York City/Philadelphia. This year she was seen on Flea Market Flip and has been busy with jobs for Cra-Z-Art, American Girl, and even got to perform on Broadway!

1. What was the experience like working on an episode of Flea Market Flip?
Working on Flea Market Flip was really awesome because I got to work with my mom. We got to build lots of cool pieces and I loved using the staple gun. My favorite item was the craft desk. Oh, and winning was so amazing! We went on a family cruise afterwards.

2. How did you enjoy getting to work with you mom for the episode?
Working with my mom is always so much fun because she is very kind and nice and we have a great time together. We also worked together a few years ago for a Pillsbury commercial. I love making memories with her.

3. What went into preparing for your Broadway performance?
In order to prepare for our Broadway performance, we had weekly practices and then when it got closer, we had almost daily practices. It was a lot of work, but such a fun time.

4. How did you feel being up on the stage to perform and what was your favorite moment from the experience?
Being on a real Broadway stage was a once in a lifetime opportunity. It was at the Gershwin Theater, which is where they perform Wicked. We got to go backstage and see all of the props. My most favorite experience during that weekend was all of it, especially the actual performing part. The audience was packed.

5. What has been the best part of filming at YouTube studios?
The best part about working at the YouTube studios is getting to see all of the different sets that people use for their YouTube channels. The studios are right above Chelsea Market so we also get to grab yummy food in between shots. My favorite is the breakfast sandwich from one of the restaurants.

6. Do you have a favorite toy you’ve shot for Cra-Z-Art?
My favorite toy I shot for Cra=Z-Art has to be the Fluffkins. My mom let me buy all of the boxes that I am on, which is super cool. I also loved shooting for the Frozen 2 slushie maker because they bought us slushies from 7-11 and I drank the entire thing.

7. How did you feel seeing your image on the catalog cover for American Girl?
When I opened my mailbox and saw that I was on the cover of the American Girl catalog, I literally fell on my driveway and rolled around and squealed. I was so excited because I LOVE American Girl dolls. What a dream job that was.

8. What is the hardest part of doing self tapes?
The hardest part of doing self tapes is learning the lines quickly and getting them right. BUT, it is easier than driving into the city for an in-person audition. My mom has the hard job of filming, editing and submitting.

9. Who have been some of your favorite people to work with this year?
Some of my most favorite people to work with this year were Ellie Sparkles/Sara and many of my friends that I met at jobs like Journey Girls, Boscovs, and Spirit Halloween.

10. What has been your favorite project to work on this year?
Working at the American Girl Doll store has been the most amazing memory because I got to be there before the store even opened. THEN, my mom let me shop afterwards and I got a new doll named Blair Wilson and we ate at the doll cafe.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
My cats names are Rigby and Tallulah and I also got a gerbil named Humphrey.
