2019 – Aaralyn Anderson

Films, Commercials, Theatre Aaralyn Anderson has done it all and this year was no different. She’s kept busy and can be seen on shows like New Amsterdam, Strahan, Sara & Keke and Dead Of Winter to name a few.

1. What do you like most about filming segments for Strahan, Sara & Keke?
When I filmed it was GMA Day then the next time I went back it was the Strahan & Sara show. I loved filming segments with Michael & Sara. They are both super nice and so funny!

2. How did you enjoy working with a green screen to film your Haven Life Insurance commercial?
It was a blast! They told me what they were going to animate & showed me the story boards. The rest was just me and my imagination.

3. What was the experience like attending Comic Con for Kids?
So so so much fun!! I loved meeting all the fans and signing autographs. I got to meet so many cool kids, artists and cosplayers.

What was your favorite moment from the event?
The best was hosting the q&a and the costume contests and pretty much everything in between.

4. What has been your most challenging job to film?
This year? I suppose it would be the Resort Short for Four Season Costa Rica. There were a bunch of scenes and it was alllllll green screen. One time the scene was greeting the grandparents in their new luxury Villa and the next we were playing ball by the beach. It was lots of stuff to imagine.

5. Are there any major differences between working on a project in Philadelphia and New York?
Hmmmm… Not really except that the Philly jobs are closer to home.

6. What was it like to film a guest spot on New Amsterdam?
I loved every second of it! I really liked working with the director Michael Slovis. He and I talked about story lines and camera angles. He spoke to me like a peer not just a kid. Which I really like.

7. How did you enjoy working with Tyler Labine?
It was the best! He is really funny and has lots of great advice. He even did the voice of his Monsters University character for me. We both love hip hop. Did you know he is a mix master ? He creates some cool tunes.

8. Who have been your favorite actors to work with?
I was fortunate enough to work with alot of really great actors this year. I got to work with my friend Ashton twice this year on The Resort Short and then on location for AAA. We had so much fun especially on location we got to do set school together, went swimming in the hotel, went out to eat not to mention all the fun we had on set. I also really enjoyed working with Eric Roberts , Julia Roberts brother, he is so nice. We sang, told jokes, talked about our cats and his squirrels plus he taught me some acting tricks I didn’t know.

9. What has been your favorite project to work on this year?
I really loved them all. I will say though that filming the Nickelodeon Face Paint Prank was the most emotional, exciting and fun. I say emotional because they pranked me but once I realized they weren’t all loosing their minds I thought it was hilarious.

10. Is there anything you can share about your role in Das Licht Drinnen?
It’s a micro short. The film is set in 1942 during the war. I play a Jewish girl who is pulled out of her hiding spot by a Nazi soldier. He drags my character threw tall grass and she doesn’t know if she will survive. It’s a powerful micro film that will soon be making it’s rounds in the film festivals.
