2018 – Sienna Mercuri

Sienna Mercuri plays the role of Katie Abbott Newman on The Young and the Restless. This year she has also been seen in a Lexus commercial.

1. What was Sienna’s time on set like filming her Lexus commercial?
Sienna had fun filming the Lexus commercial, she met a couple of new friends including her “stand in/double” from the scene with all the kids in the car. She doesn’t have pets of her own so it was fun to work with the two dogs in the car scene. The Director was very patient and cool, he has kids of his own. In the backyard of the house she filmed in, there was a swingset and trampoline so the Director wanted Sienna to have a good time and would even jump on a trampoline with her in between takes. The crew was great too along with the actors that played her parents.

2. How did she enjoy having lots of lines for the spot?
The lines for the commercial were a little challenging for Sienna at the time – she had just turned five. But was a trouper and got them down. She says her favorite part was at the end when she makes the funny face to getting a new baby sister.

3. How did she react when she saw it on TV?
She thought it was silly and made her giggle.

4. Does Sienna have a favorite thing about auditioning?
Her favorite part about auditioning is getting to say lines she wouldn’t normally get to – the silly stuff. Also when she gets to play a big sister, little sister, or play a different character since she is only child.

5. What does Sienna like best about going to the Y&R set?
Sienna’s favorite part of going to the set of “Y&R” is getting to hang out with Ryan and Holden – The Hare twins – whom play “Johnny” and she really looks up to Aly – who plays “Faith”. Also she enjoys the different people she gets to meet.

6. What is a typical filming day like?
Typical day of filming is a few hours~ Check in, wardrobe, hair, and hang in studio classroom, they usually don’t take more than “2 takes” with the kids. All of the actors and crew are so professional and are really good with the kids.

7. How does Sienna enjoy working with Melody Thomas Scott?
Sienna hasn’t worked a lot with Melody Scott Thomas this year but when we did she was very sweet and helpful with her.

8. What is the best part of filming holiday episodes?
We really only did one Holiday episode this year but it was Sienna’s favorite because most of the cast sang a Christmas song together, there was fake snow and she got to dress up in a fancy Christmas dress and play with toys on set.

9. Is there anyone new to the cast you hope Sienna gets to film with soon?
Sienna says she hopes to work more with her “Aunt Abby”( Melissa Ordway) & her boyfriend ” Arturo” on the show. She likes her big brother “Reed” and “Tessa “because they sing and play the guitar. Sienna loves music so that would be fun to involve the kids a little more with that storyline. We also look forward to more scenes with Grandpa ” Victor” hopefully in the near future.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
We feel very lucky to have gotten the opportunity to work on the same show for about 2 1/2 years now. We really enjoy the whole cast and the crew is really wonderful to work with on “The Young & The Restless”. We also feel especially lucky and fortunate that Sienna got cast in the national Lexus commercial and that ran for 6 months! We are counting our blessings this year for sure! Sienna says ” Merry Christmas to all and have a Happy and Healthy 2019″!!!
