2018 – Everleigh McDonell

Everleigh McDonell is cousin to Asher and Brayden McDonell. This yeah she has been busy filming for the upcoming season of Good Girls.

1. How do you prepare for auditions?
I’m always ready! My mom dresses me up. It’s ok if I don’t book the job. I just know my lines, and I act them!

2. What was your shoot for your Nationwide Insurance commercial like?
It was pretty fun. We did hair and makeup and then I just had to get my suitcase and pretend I was walking out the door. My pretend mom and dad had to say “oh, there’s no more room” but they didn’t actually say it. They just acted it. I felt so excited when I saw my commercial on TV that I cried. And Leslie Odom Jr. has the best voice in it!

3. How did you enjoy shooting for Chaser Brand?
That was actually fun, and I love shooting with Joanna Miriam! I loved that I was with Asher and Brayden. We got to pretend to play games. We got rainbow ice cream. Brayden said his favorite flavor in it was caramel and I laughed because there was no caramel color in it!

4. What is the best part of working with your cousins?
They make it so fun. I love their little giggles. They’re so sweet and nice and sometimes, when they go to the grocery store, they get me candy.

5. What has the experience been like so far working on Good Girls?
At basecamp, there is Jeremy, Retta, Christina Hendricks, Matthew Lillard, Mae Whitman, Scarlett, Mason, Braxton, me, my mom, Braxton’s mom, Mason’s mom, Chelsea (which is Scarlett’s mom), and we just have too much fun. I make everybody laugh and I say my lines perfectly! Matthew Lillard is so funny too, like me. One day, he accidentally called me Scarlett, and he called Scarlett, Everleigh. I call him “Dean Dean the Dancing Machine”! Christina Hendricks decorated a Christmas tree with a secret surprise. Retta is beautiful and glows like Alexander Skarsgard. I was actually pretty excited to film with her because something about me just loves Retta. When Matthew and Christina filmed with me, they hugged me and they squeezed me so tight that I thought my body organs would pop out! Mae is pretty cool. It blowed my mind that she is the voice of Tinkerbell, and Christina Hendricks is the Pirate Fairy! They said, “We can do the scene for you!” And I was like, “Ok!” And I closed my eyes and thought, “this is gonna be good!” Then they did the scene about magic and it was so cool. We all clapped for them.

6. How did you react when you found out you booked the role?
Well my mom said I booked the role of Jane, but I was confused because I auditioned for Emma. But I was so excited that I booked a role on Good Girls because it is so adventurous and fun with my new friends!

7. What was your first day on set like?
It was so hot! It was really hot and I was melting into a puddle! I was pretty excited because my sister on the show, Scarlett Abinante, is actually my new friend. I like working with her. She says I’m loud but that she still loves me.

8. What is the best thing about your character Jane Boland?
Jane Boland is kinda fashionable and kinda like me. She dresses kind of like me. She is funny like me. I like her hairstyles and when Tyler (hair stylist) braids my hair.

9. Who has been her favorite people to work with this year?
I have 3! No 4! Christina Hendricks, Retta, Matthew Lillard and Mae Whitman! Christina is so nice, Retta is hilarious, Matthew is funny too, and Mae is friendly and always ready to do her work.

10. Is there anything you can share about your role on your other show?
No yet. All I can say is that I’ve been working hard and I’ve gotten to work with some really amazing actors on that show! I’m so so lucky!

Is there anything else you’d like to add?
When I was a baby, I tried to get everyone’s attention and make everybody laugh, and I’m still doing that!
