2018 – Asher Morrissette

Asher Morrissette plays the role of Thomas DiMera on Days of Our Lives. He has also worked for Little Tikes, Mobo and on the series The Baxters!

1. How did Asher get started in the industry?
When Asher was a baby he got representation and booked his first audition which was for Target. He was about a year and a half old at the time.

2. How did Asher enjoy his shoot for Mobo?
He was very excited to shoot for Mobo because they have such a cool product but it was tough because he wanted to ride the cruisers. Having other kids on set made it extra fun!

3. What was his time on set like working for Little Tikes?
Little Tikes is so much fun to work with! You get to go on set and play with toys. Asher is on the box of their Waffle Blocks: Fire and Rescue set and he also appears in two of their commercials. The toy box shoot was fun but he had more fun on set of the commercial because he got to buid and play with his “Mom” Abra Moore.

4. How did you react when you heard Asher booked Days of Our Lives?
Stunned… and we still are. Asher’s Mom was walking him to preschool when she got the call and was so proud of him. She told him “Asher you did it!” and he said “What did I do?” “You’re going to be on Days of Our Lives!” “Oh, Okay.” Since then his excitement has increased. He loves being on set. All of the crew is truly professional and they are such a big family over there.

5. What’s it like to have Asher be part of such a legendary soap?
Humbling, truly humbling. We are so honored and so proud of Asher. It is amazing to see what a well oiled machine the production is. One walk-through and one-take and you’re done. The cast and crew are incredible. It’s a really cool to walk in and use the dressing room that Susan Hayes or John Anniston used the day before.

6. How did he enjoy working with Marci Miller?
Marci is the sweetest person you could imagine and was so great with Asher. He’s gotten to work with Kate Mansi more who is wonderful and supportive. Asher thinks she is gorgeous and we agree. We love them both.

7. What’s the best part of working with Billy Flynn?
One thing, amongst many, that we love about Billy is that he treats Asher like a professional and is always taking care of him and looking out for him. The first time they met it was like they were buddies from the playground. They always have fun together and there are many high fives going around.

8. How did he react to seeing his first episode on TV?
We’ve had to explain to him that it’s very special that he is on TV and that all kids don’t get this opportunity. He’s been in some commercial spots since he was 2 so he really doesn’t know life different than with him showing up on TV every once in a while.

9. What has been Asher’s favorite scenes to film as Thomas?
We can’t say any of the storyline because they film several months in advance, but tune in on Christmas Day to find out. Asher had a blast filming that episode!

10. Is there anything you can share about his role on The Baxters?
Asher plays Cole Baxter son of Ashley (Masey McLain) and grandson of John (Ted McGuinley) and Elizabeth (Roma Downey). We are very honored to be a part of The Baxters. To see Karen Kingsbury’s novels come to life is a really neat experience. It’s not out yet but we’re pretty sure that Asher is in the opening scene of the first episode. They initially shot six episodes but the studio has just ordered 18 more and shooting will start on those in February. Asher’s favorite parts so far have been swinging on the tree swing in front of the Baxter house and learning how to thumb wrestle from Ted McGuinley.
