2016 – Tyree Brown

1. What was it like working with Denise Richards on Operation: Neighborhood Watch!?

Denise was really nice and very professional. She was sweet to all of the kids and even bought food for everybody one day.

2. What was the best part of filming with Caittin Carmichael?

Caitlin is one of my good friends now because she is so real, funny, always happy and just a really good person to be around. She is a really good actress too. I’ve seen her in other movies and she can act! Her mom and her are the best.

3. How did you film the scene with the lion?

They brought the lion on set in a special cage and filmed the lion separately because of rules with animals and filming. We got to see the lion up close in his cage though and that was really cool. He was beautiful.

4. What was it like working on Camp Cool Kids?

Camp Cool Kids was one of best times I have had filming. The whole cast and all the crew members were wonderful. The weather in Louisiana was hot so that made some of the days harder to film but it was really pretty there also. We got to swim in a lake for some of the scenes and it was like we were at summer camp instead of actually filming a movie. I made some close friends on the set of this movie also. That is always one of the best things about working.

5. How did you enjoying doing your voice over for Ice Age The Great Egg-Scapade?

My voiceover job for The Great Egg-Escapade was very quick since it was the background characters for that episode. I think i was in the booth for no more than 10 minutes. It was fun though.

6. How different was you to film for Criminal Minds versus Parenthood?

Criminal Minds was another great job I had. My scene where I’m in the car with my tv father was pretty intense since I had to watch him get shot. I felt very privileged to have played Young Derek Morgan for that one episode. It was very different from Parenthood just because I was working with actors I had never worked with and it was more dramatic than Parenthood.

7. What was your time on set like filming your episode?

My time on set seemed to go by pretty fast. We filmed one day on the lot and the next day was on location. Those two days flew by. I would have loved to have worked more days.

8. How did you prepare for your role?

I always just learn my lines first and then try to see myself in the scene. My mom will help me understand the scene if it’s more complicated.

9. Do you have a favorite cast member that you got to meet?

I unfortunately did not get to meet Shemar Moore since my scenes were not filmed with him, but I did get to meet the awesome Thomas Gibson, who actually directed the episode which was way cool. Also met Joe Mantegna who plays David Rossi on the show and he was so nice. I would have LOVED to have met Danny Glover, who played my grandfather in the episode but he was not in any of my scenes either. I will hopefully meet him one day.

10. What do you miss most about Parenthood?

What I miss most about Parenthood is the cast and crew. They were and still are really a family to me. I spent half of my childhood with them. I miss everything about Parenthood and what it stands for. I am hoping on a Parenthood reunion of some sort in the future. You gotta keep dreaming!
