2016 – Mario Anthony

1. How did you get started with acting?

I started acting with my two older brothers, Angelo and Nico. I was just turning 5 years old and they both were already in acting classes so started classes with them. All of us were called the “O Brothers.”

2. What was your first time on set like?

I don’t remember my first time on set because I was so young but one of my funniest memories, is working on A.N.T. Farm, it was so much fun because it was a carnival scene and I got to play on the Go-Around ride. I was so excited when they allowed me to get on the ride, I ran and tripped. I skinned my knee, but I didn’t care I just wanted to finally get on the ride.

3. What was it like filming your episode of Grey’s Anatomy?

I was a stand in kid for Grey’s Anatomy, I can’t remember the scene but my mom tells me I played throwing toys in the daycare with Patrick Dempsey during the off takes.

4. How did you enjoy working on A.N.T Farm?

A.N.T. Farm was so much fun because it was the carnival scene.

5. What is the toughest part of auditioning?

The toughest part of acting is remembering everything, being on set in the right place and pages and pages of lines to sound natural. Now, I am better but at first it was hard.

6. Have you done any commercial work?

Yes, I have done commercial work, it was for Jeep.

7. What was your experience like filming for Parenthood?

I don’t remember much about Parenthood, I believe I was a student in the school. I had to walk down the school hallway during the scene, and sit in class.

8. What was the best part of filming for Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues?

My brother Nico and I filmed in Anchorman 2 , which was in San Diego at Sea World. It was fun because the scene was with the Whales, and we all got splashed.

9. Who has been your favorite person to work with?

Favorite person, this is a tough one, I have really great acting coaches and met a lot of people on set. So too many favorite people to list.

10. What has been your favorite project to work on?

My favorite project, ummm, I don’t have a favorite, all of it has been fun.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

I would like to add, that all the acting classes, private classes all make a huge difference. All the driving to auditions, sitting in hours of traffic…All of it…it’s WORTH IT! Because I get to do things I love.
