2016 – Makayla Lysiak

1. What was your time on set like filming Brooklyn Nine-Nine?

When I was filming on Brooklyn Nine-Nine I had an amazing time on set. I met a lot of new people and made a lot of friends. The part I loved most about being on set is that I saw how collaboration and communication with the actors, director and crew were all so essential in accomplishing a funny twenty-two minute sitcom episode.

2. What was it like working with Melissa Fumero?

Melissa Fumero was super sweet and I felt comfortable preforming with her. Though I didn’t interact with her much, she sent me kind smiles and hello’s if I was around.

3. How did you enjoy filming Good Grief?

I enjoyed filming Good Grief because it wasn’t too stressful. There wasn’t any pressure in memorizing lines or making sure I did something a certain way, because all we had to do was have fun! The other talent and I played sports against each other while the team collected shots for the film. It was just like playing with my friends.

4. Where is your favorite place to audition and why?

My favorite place to audition are at studios because I get to see sets, crew members driving around in golf carts, office buildings, gift shops, etc. It’s a whole other world inside those gates. Even though auditioning on a studio lot adds more pressure (in my opinion), it helps with my performance.

5. What was your experience like working on The Fosters?

The Fosters was such an incredible show to work on. I look up to so many of the actors, so I was nervous and very excited to meet them and preform with them.

6. What was it like working with Maia Mitchell?

Maia Mitchell was an amazing person to work with. She made me feel comfortable and was incredibly welcoming. I ate lunch with her and the other cast members. She told me about herself and so did I. Maia said hi to me in the make-up trailer and gave me hugs. I was so happy I had the opportunity to work with such an incredible person.

7. How did you enjoy filming with Jasmine Alveran?

Jasmine Alveran was fun to work with. We got along on set and we got to know more about each other and soon became good friends.

8. What was the best part of working on Instant Mom?

The best part of working on Instant Mom was the cast. They were so welcoming and fun. We did the robot during the live taping in front of the studio audience. We played Hide-And-Seek around set. Ate lunch together. And we played video games in our free time.

9. Who have been some of your favorite people to work with this year?

There were so many amazing people I worked with this year, I can’t list them all.

10. What has been your favorite project to work on this year?

I can’t decide what project was my favorite to take part in this year. I am grateful for all of my opportunities and jobs, I couldn’t pick just one as my favorite.
