2016 – Gage Magosin

 

Gage Magosin is a young actor from the Los Angeles area. He has been seen on Henry Danger, and will be seen on Teachers! To keep up to date make sure to follow him on Instagram.

 

1. How did you get started in the industry?

I started doing community based musical theater. My first role was a Duck in Alice in Wonderland on a stage at our local library and then I was hooked! I went on to do 5 other shows at bigger theaters with bigger parts. I was playing Mike TeeVee in Willy Wonka when I became repped, but I was 8 1/2 so I didn’t really get many auditions in Hollywood until I turned 9.

2. What is the best part of auditioning? The hardest part?

Best part: The best part of auditioning is getting to act because that’s what I love to do. It’s also exciting imaging getting the part and being on set. Fun to dream.

Worst part: Having to memorize the script. It can be hard work and it sometimes takes me away from something I’d rather be doing.

3. Do you have a favorite scene you filmed for My Power of One?

I only did one scene in the episode, but chasing my sister around the house was pretty fun.

4. What was your time on set like filming Henry Danger?

I had a blast! It was so much fun because all of the kids on the show were super nice. We ran around the halls of the studio playing hide and seek when we had breaks and played handball against a giant garage door. The set teacher was super sweet and the scene I was in was hysterical. It was a great, great experience all around.

5. What was the experience like working on Con Boys?

It was cool doing a project for a contest because we were pressed for time, which somehow made it super exciting. The cast and crew were super sweet and supportive and we got to do a lot of improv, which added another element of fun to the acting.

6. How did you feel when you won your award at the Best of San Diego 48Hour Film Project Awards?

I was in shock and then pretty emotional. I actually started crying. I didn’t know they were planning on giving a Rising Star Actor award, so I was completely caught off guard. Thankfully, it was a long walk to the stage so I pulled it all together and thought about what I was going to say. It was definitely a huge highlight in my acting career. In acting, there is a lot of rejection and you don’t get much feedback, so getting a trophy with my name on it meant a lot to me.

7. What is the best part of doing live theater?

Getting to be in front an audience is a really special feeling. You hear their responses and it makes me feel important; like I’m actually doing that something that impacts people.

8. Is there anything you can share about your upcoming episode of Teachers?

I acted in a very funny scene with a super famous actor who was once a child actor. He was super nice to me and just a regular guy to talk to, which was cool.

9. Who have been some of your favorite people to work with?

I’ve done two jobs with Producer, Dan Schneider. He was really fun and a nice guy. I also loved acting with Jon Maxwell in Con Boys. We share a mutual appreciation in music and he’s chill.

10. What has been your favorite job to work on so far?

I would have to say Con Boys because I was a co-lead so I had a lot of lines. I’m a pretty competitive person, so I loved the contest aspect of the project.

Additional comments

I love acting and I think it’s something special about who I am and what I am meant to do. I think people should always chase their dreams.
