2015 – Ryder and Gunner Gadbois

 

Gunner and Ryder Gadbois play the role of Connor Newman on The Young and The Restless. This year the boys were seen in episodes of Kirby Buckets, The Thundermans, and True Blood! To keep up to date make sure to follow them on Twitter and Instagram.

 

1. What was the boys first booking?

Their first booking was playing baby John Swanson on Parks and Rec (son of Ron Swanson)

 

2. How did the boys enjoy filming The Mindy Project?

They loved it. The crew prepared us that one baby would need to eat and one would need to sleep. We sent ryder for the eating part because he was always snacking and then he refused to eat. It was pretty funny but it worked out well!

 

3. What was their time on set like filming their Skittles commercial?

Well, most importantly there were tons of Skittles available to them. They had a great time, one of the boys even fell asleep on their “mom” during filming!

 

4. Is there any way to tell Gunner and Ryder apart? Can the cast tell the boys apart?

They have very slight differences. Ryder’s head is a little more narrow while Gunner’s head is a little more round. Their ears are another way (Gunner’s left ear is identical to Ryder’s right ear and vice versa.) so we have to be sure i’m looking at the correct ear to tell who it is. The cast cannot tell them apart. They try to guess each time, at least they have a 50/50 shot! 🙂

 

5. What is your favorite part of Gunner and Ryder working at YR?

I love watching them bond and grow with the cast they get to work it. It’s so much fun to see their relationships blossom on and off camera.

 

6. How do the boys enjoy working with Justin Hartley?

They love him! They have recently started calling him “TB Dad” aka TV dad. It’s pretty cute.

 

7. What is it like working with Melissa Claire Egan?

She is just the sweetest and the boys absolutely adore her. She is just a genuine and kind woman.

 

8. What is the experience like working with Eric Braeden?

He is great! He is a grandpa himself and that totally shows when he is interacting with the boys on and off set. A couple weeks ago he shared his orange with them and they thought that was the coolest!

 

9. Is there anyone on the show you hope Gunner and Ryder will have a chance to work with?

I would love for them to get the chance to work with everyone. They have worked with a majority of the cast and anyone who they haven’t worked with, they have interacted with behind the scenes. Everyone is so amazing and welcoming to them.

 

10. What is your favorite scene that the boys have filmed on YR?

My favorite episode to date is when they were celebrating Connor’s birthday in Paris and they took a family selfie with tongues out. That was such a fun scene. I think the best part is the tongues out was spur of the moment and not scripted to happen.

 

Anything else you’d like to add?

I would just like to take a moment to thank everyone for the support and love they show the boys. The cast, the crew, and the fans have been so welcoming and kind. We truly appreciate it!
