2015 -Madison Dae Clarion

 

Madison Dae Clarion appeared in an episode of The Neighbors in 2013. This year she has been busy performing in All in the Timing and was seen in episodes of Henry Danger! To keep up to date make sure to like her page on Facebook and follow her on Twitter.

 

1. What was the best part of attending the Teen Choice Awards Gifting Suite?

I enjoyed going booth to booth getting the coolest freebies and snapping pics with people there. I felt like a real star!

2. What was your time on set like working on Jessie?

Jessie felt more like live theatre because there were audience seats like bleachers for people to sit and watch. There were mostly just crew and parents watching, though. I spent a lot of time with the kid lead actors on the show. They turned out to be like any other kids you might meet anywhere!

The other kid actors were so fun to work with; you could really tell they were just kids like anyone else!

3. How did you enjoy filming Ted?

Ted was an incredible experience. We had to travel to Boston for the shoot, which was the wedding scene. The scene was shot in an old church in Boston. The way the production improved the lighting was to float a tremendous helium balloon into the high ceiling. This bounced light for the shoot. Amazing.

I was one of the two flower girls and spent the whole day hanging out with Mila Kunis. She was so nice! You won’t see much of me in the film though-just the top of my head. The outtakes and directors cuts seem to have more.

4. What was the experience like doing the live theatre performance of All in the Timing?

Live theatre is my first love, so having the chance to play two very different characters in this adult play was great. It is a multi-act play of six separate comedies. I played Kafka, a chimpanzee who is typing Hamlet in “Words Words Words” and Sharon, a grumpy waitress in “Philadelphia”.

5. What was the rehearsals process that you went through?

Rehearsals were very time-intensive especially because both of my parts had pages and pages of dialogue. For 3 weeks, it was daily rehearsal for 3-4 hrs after school.

6. What was opening night like?

It was hectic but fabulous. There is no feeling like being onstage performing live!

7. How did you feel when you got cast on Henry Danger?

The day my agent called to tell me I had gotten the role, I was in total disbelief. I made her repeat the news a couple times to be sure. I danced for hours around the house…and then had to be on set the next day!

8. How did you prepare yourself for playing the role of Krisha?

First, I had to be off book asap ie memorize the script by the next day. Then I had to make sure to be ready to be flexible, as my lines were constantly being changed even as we filmed.

9. What was your time on set like?

Of course, I had to spend 3 hours a day in the studio classroom with the rest of the lead actor kids. I got to know them pretty well because of this. I spent time with wardrobe because the producers tried me in 3 or 4 outfits til they got the look they wanted. The wardrobe lady was wonderful and she even had to go shopping that week to find exactly the right cowboy hat that the producers wanted for me. I got to wear my own cowboy boots though. Then each week they had “run through” before the actual filming.

This means the whole show was run for the producers, casting directors and crew. That was also like live theatre. I loved it when I got a laugh.

10. Do you have a favorite project you’ve done this year?

Hands down -Henry Danger-I practically cried when filming was over. However, I was written into another episode later in the year. I was so happy to find that out! It was like a reunion with old friends to return to the set.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

When I was on set for Henry Danger, Executive Producer (and creator of Henry danger, ICarly, Victorious etc etc) Dan Schneider happened to pass us in the hallway. He told my Mom, “You know, Madison is really a great actress.” My mom was so surprised and said, “Thanks so much for saying that, it’s so nice of you” … And then he said “I really mean it —she is really good!”

My mom was in tears!
