Star-Kidz

Leilani Brosnan worked on an episode of The Neighbors and this year has been seen in a PSA for the film Suffragette, on the Kids Choice Sports Awards, and more! To keep up to date make sure to like her page on Facebook and follow her on Instagram.

1. How did you enjoy attending and taking part of this years Kids Choice Sports Awards?

I was a little nervous on center stage with Russell Wilson throwing him footballs in front of 10,000 at Pauley Pavillion at UCLA! I was so afraid I would drop one! But in the end I didn’t and ended up having a blast!!!

2. Do you have a favorite part of the show?

My favorite part was the Tug-of-War with Marshawn Lynch with some of the other kids…it was just too bad that he fell into the hole full of powder so quickly!

3. What was the experience like walking for the Loren Franco Fashion Show?

Walking for Loren Franco Designs in LA Fashion Week was a new experience for me. I had done the cat-walk once before but I was much younger then and this was a much bigger event! It was so different being backstage where there were so many make-up and hair people hired just for the event! I really liked the theme of her show because it was Phantom of the Opera and I knew all the songs and love the music. Loren was the opening act for Saturday night which is very prestigious and she had a very dramatic violinist start the show which was simply amazing.

4. What was your time on set like filming your Volkswagon commercial?

Filming for VW Golf for the Canadian market was so much fun! The setting was in a park in Pasadena with a birthday party theme. I got to run around with a squirt gun shooting water at all the other kids – how much fun is that?

5. How did you enjoy shooting for La Redoute?

La Redoute is a French fashion brand and my Mom was a wreck during the shoot since I had to miss 4 or 5 days of school! It was fun hanging out in their trailer between shots and then shooting in downtown LA, the Valley and then later in a studio setting where I brought my cat, Latte, for one of the pajama shots! The clothes for this shoot were really, really cute so I got lots of new photos for my portfolio!

6. How did you feel after filming your Hope For Our Daughters PSA?

Filming for the PSA #Hope For Our Daughters for the new movie Suffragette was challenging since they asked us so many questions and didn’t prepare us ahead of time since they wanted our honest answers! It was a real honor to be picked for this job from so many girls who were submitted and auditioned. The Director is British and very famous for her documentaries. Be sure to see the movie!!!

7. What is one of the funniest things to happen on set for a project?

Being on set is not really that funny although I do have fun sometimes with the other kids. I can only remember the serious things like having to learn lines and then worrying I will forget something!

8. What has been your most challenging shoot to do this year?

One of my most challenging jobs this year was filming the Disney Dream Big, Princess campaign. The first day was shot in a pool in Pasadena and it was all done underwater with the lighting crew and cameramen all in wetsuits! I had to do a backflip and also a twirl underwater playing Ariel, the Mermaid! Then the second day of shooting was in Malibu and I was sitting on a rock in a mermaid dress with the waves crashing behind me until I got so wet we had to stop filming!

9. What has been your favorite shoot to do this year?

I just finished shooting for Guess Kids in Malibu with a bunch of other kids. We shot some of the clothes right on the beach at a beautiful house designed by a famous architect. Some locations are much better than others!

Is there anything else you would like to add?

The truth of it all is that once I finish an audition or a job I immediately forget about it until my Mom shows me the commercial on-line or the photos in a catalogue. The jobs all start to run together since I do about one per week! Just last week I had to play the cello for a Kickstarter commercial! Plus I am in fourth grade now and we have so much homework and I want to get good grades that I am only doing the special projects this year so I don’t miss too much school.
