Katie Silverman played Libby on General Hospital and this year has been seen in a Toys R Us commercial! To keep up to date make sure to follow her on Twitter.
1. How did you enjoy doing voice over work for Despicable Me 2?
I was so excited when I heard I was able to work on Despicable Me 2! ADR work is so much fun and I love animation and voice over.
2. What was filming your Subway commercial like?
Filming the subway commercial / Frankenweenie tie-in campaign was also alot of fun because I was portraying a character from the film. In fact, the whole family in this one got to dress up as characters from the Frankenweenie movie. I’m a fan of Tim Burton and subway sandwiches, so I was really excited when I got picked for that one!
3. What was your time on set like working on General Hospital?
The General Hospital experience was amazing. In my opinion, working on a soap opera is very much like working in the theater. I love the theater and started acting on stage at a very young age, so it was so great to be able to work in a similar atmosphere.
4. How did you enjoy filming with Kelly Thiebaud?
The character Britt is so much fun and it was great to be a patient of hers. I also love comedy, so it was great to be a part of a comedic moment on the show.
5. What was the experience like working on Grey’s Anatomy?
I actually worked on Private Practice as Young Amelia in the flashback robbery scene with her brother Derek. I was so lucky that they were able to re-use the footage from Private Practice on Grey’s from Derek’s perspective.
6. How did you like doing voice over work for Castle?
Working in voice over is one of my favorite things, and it was a lot of fun being a voice in a tape they played over and over again as a clue in Castle. It was even more fun because, in addition, Castle is one of my Mom’s favorite shows.
7. What was the process like doing ADR work for Frozen?
Working on Frozen was really fun because I love animated movies. We would improvise and do characters to the picture. It’s a lot of fun doing ADR because you get to work with other kids.
8. How did you enjoy attending the premiere for Home?
The Home premiere was a lot of fun. I really like Rihanna’s music, so it was super exciting to see her in person.
9. What is the best part about being on television?
The best part of being on TV is that, like all other kinds of projects, television is an opportunity for me to do my favorite thing: acting!
10. What has been your favorite show to work on so far?
I loved being able to work on the New Girl. I love comedy, so that show is a perfect fit for me! I have had a lot of fun every time I’ve gotten to play Young Jess.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
The other thing I’m most excited is being in the Toys R Us Star Wars spot. I have always been a HUGE Star Wars fan for a long time so to be able to be a part of that campaign has been so exciting for me and my family. Plus my sister is in it too!!!
