Hazel and Violet Zimmerman played the role of Aida Braverman in the final season of Parenthood. This year the girs have also been busy working for Izzy & Ferd, Joah Love, and to keep up to date make sure to follow them on Twitter and Instagram.
1. How did Hazel and Violet get started in the industry?
My very close friend had her kids in the industry. She recommended Paloma Model and Talent. The sign up process for submissions was very straight forward. The girls got accepted to be represented a few weeks after once work permits got all in order. Very important. They really take care of their talent. We love them. We got auditions right away, and booked a 1st job on our 3rd audition. That was Carters.
2. What was their time on set like filming for Plum Organics?
Oh my, this is by far the funnest day we had working. You call that work? It was more like a play date with tons of friends also from the same agency, parents we worked with in the past. They wanted to let the kids be who they are and followed all their silly movements. They got delicious healthy snacks and play time. Loved it.
3. What was the experience like filming their Johnson’s commercial?
Johnson was very fun. Coming in to set and getting introduced to the team. Always very welcoming on our 2 times working with them. They focus on the child experience and really let them be their natural self. We can’t wait to work with them again in the future.
4. How did the girls enjoy shooting for Izzy & Ferd?
Izzy & Ferd was very fun. I think Violet enjoyed herself so much! She ran up and down while the photographer captured her silly self. The clothes was just adorable and the staff was very professional.
5. What was Hazel and Violet’s first day on set for Parenthood like?
It was amazing. We checked in and got to meet our set teacher Pam who we just adore. Got into wardrobe (happen to be the same clothes we used for carters) after they got all settled in and sleep in, Joy Bryant came to chat for a few minutes and get some one on one with the girls before they started the filming. They really pay attention to how the kids are doing. It was amazing 1st day and couldn’t wait to go back again. We got to meet and interact with the cast. A big family. So sad it’s over.
6. How did they like working with Tyree Brown?
Oh my, Tyree is just so loving and always making them smile. They right away connected not only with him but his family. We felt very welcome. He is just a – very warm and kind little boy. He took his brother role very serious and loved the twins as they are actually his sisters.
7. What was it like filming with Joy Bryant?
Joy Bryant is very fun to be around. She would interact with the girls off and on camera. They had a special connection. One time I remember them imitating each other laugh. I wish I had it on camera. Priceless. She really did take her time to connect with them.
8. How did they enjoy working with Monica Potter?
We love Monica. As you can tell with some of the background seems I think they laughed the hardest with her and Joy. Monica really takes the time to get to know all of us and was very loving and welcoming. We continue to have contact with her and shared a little of our family story.
9. What was one of the funniest things to happen when filming a scene?
Well to me was the time Violet moved her little hands to dance to a song. It was the funniest cutest moment ever. Maybe day 2 or 3 of filming that aired on episode 2.
10. What was their last day on set like?
It was a very sad day… But they got to play with the Allan twins on the baseball field, shared some fries and lots of dance-moves… Kisses and hugs from all the family and lots of love during dinner time. They spent a lot of arm time with Dax, especially Hazel.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
We are very thankful for all the opportunities we had in this busy industry. We could not do it without our agents at Paloma Model and Talent, our family and friends and all the love we get from the fans.
Thank you for letting us be part of this family.
Shout out to: Parenthood, Carters, Izzy&Ferd, JoahLove, Munchkins, Johnson, Safety 1st, Dream Works Animation, Plum Organic. To our fabulous set teachers and all the teams we had the opportunity to work with. This 1st year has been amazing and we are so blessed.
We’d like to thank Hazel, Violet, and their family for participating in this year’s Holiday Q&A Event!
