2015 – Charlie Tacker

 

Charlie Tacker is a young actor from the Boston area. He’s been seen in American Hustle, Family Problems, and has recently been nominated for an award at LA WebFest! To keep up to date make sure to like his page on Facebook and follow him on Twitter!

 

1. How did you get started in the industry?

I used to watch super hero movies with my Mom. She was afraid I would jump off of a building or something so she made me watch the green screen and blooper stuff on the DVDs. When I found out they were actors I decided I wanted to be an actor too.

2. What was the experience like working on your first short film?

Working on my first short film was really cool. The director Sean was a student at Harvard and we filmed in a really cool house. It was a lot of fun and I was hooked.

3. What was the best part of filming Max Saves the World?

While we were filming Max Saves the World we stayed at a really cool house in Yokers New York. The house is where a lot of the movie takes place. My co-stars we great and the dog that played Max was so smart and cool. The whole thing was a lot of fun and I can’t wait to see the movie when it’s finished.

4. How did you enjoy working on your Cape Cod Healthcare commercial?

Wow that was a long time ago! But it was fun. It was close to home and I got to ride around in a bus for a loooooong time!

5. Did you do anything special to prepare for playing Nicky in the short film Nicky?

I met with Dom and Ken a lot (the writer and director of Nicky) before we filmed. I had to get fitted for a tux for that film. It was a great tux! We worked a lot on expressions. It was fun.

6. What was it like working on American Hustle?

I was an extra in American Hustle so you only see me for a few minutes at the end of the film. But my day on set was so much fun. I got to hang out on set with Christian Bale all day. I didn’t even know it was him until the day was almost over.

7. How did you feel finding out you were nominated for an award at LA Web Fest?

I feel so honored when I found out I was nominated for a LA Webfest Award. There are so many great actors out there doing so many great web projects. I don’t know if I will win or not but just getting nominated is a big deal to me. And they are showing my film, “My Snoring Future” at the festival too.

8. What has been your most challenging role to play so far?

Playing Kyle in “My Snoring Future” was the hardest so far. I had to be serious while Sean (he plays my dad) was burping and snoring and was wicked funny. I kept laughing and it was so hard to keep a straight face.

9. Who have been some of your favorite people to work with?

It’s really hard to name the favorite people I’ve worked with. I’ve been really lucky to work with so many great actors and directors and crew members. John Travola was super nice and even took selfies with me. Christian Bale was really nice too. Allyson Ashely Arm and Terry Moore were so great and I love them. Then Maulik Pancholy played my dad in a comedy called “The Curse of Don Scarducci”. He was super nice and even did some of his cartoon voices for me.

10. What has been your favorite project to work on so far?

Naming my favorite project is like trying to name favorite people I’ve worked with. I really am so lucky to have worked on dozens of really great films. This past summer I worked on a film for HBO’s Project Greenlight competition. Our film “Whiskey Boys” made the top 20. That was pretty cool. And in Aimy in a Cage I got to hang out with Allyson Ashley Arm all day and have a mohawk every day!

Thanks for adding me to your list of talented kid actors. I have so much fun acting and really like that people like what I do.
