2014 – Victoria Grace

 

Victoria Grace appeared in an episode of The Young and the Restless during the holiday pageant. This year she’s been seen in Up In Arms and filmed an episode of Mulaney! To keep up to date make sure to like her page on Facebook and follow her on Twitter.

 

1. What was it like to meet Lee Meriwether?

Lee Meriwether is affiliated with Theatre West, and I was seeing a play there that my friend had directed. My mom was the one who recognized her while we were standing in the lobby. She’s super sweet and we got a great picture together!

2. How did you enjoy working on Mulaney?

I absolutely loved working on Mulaney! The cast and crew were so down-to-earth and kind. My first day on set was rehearsal and wardrobe. Watching and participating in rehearsal was such an awesome experience. The second day I was filming my scene with John Mulaney, Martin Short, and Bailee Madison. It was super fun and it was cool to be able to shoot on New York Street of CBS Radford Studios.

3. What was the experience like working with Martin Short?

Martin Short has always been idolized in my family because of the movie, “Three Amigos!” He’s such an amazing actor and comedian! When I first met him, my mother told him how he’s a legend in our household. She said, “But you probably get that all the time.” And he replied with, “Oh, not nearly enough!” Then we all laughed. Working with him was just so much fun!

4. What was the process like to do voice over work for 47 Ronin?

When I first auditioned for 47 Ronin, the first thing I did was work on my Japanese accent because I had to voice match for the Japanese girl in the movie. Then I recorded at my usual voice over place. I got a callback, where I had to meet with casting and the director for the film in person as I recorded at Disney Studios. There were three other girls in the waiting room. When I went back in to record, they played me the movie scene with the girl in it on a huge screen. I said my lines as her lips were moving on screen, they redirected me a couple of times, and then I left the room. We all waited for a few more minutes, and then the casting director came out again and said, “Victoria Grace, we’d like to keep you here. Thank you everyone else for coming.” I went back into the room to redo one more line and then I was done! It was tons of fun and something I will always remember.

5. How did you like working on Happy Cabin Song?

Happy Cabin Song was really cool! When we got there we had to learn this long camp song along with intricate hand movements. I love to sing and dance so it was no big deal at all. There was so much energy on that set and everything was just about having fun. I met some wonderful people there who I’ve become great friends with and I had a great time!

6. What was your time on set like working on the Flappy Bird segment of Up in Arms?

Being able to be on Up in Arms as a cast member is so cool, and I love working with everyone there! The cast and crew always put a smile on my face. They’re just those types of people! When I was working on Flappy Bird, everyone was so welcoming and I really loved that we were all able to work together. We all pitched in suggestions that would make the scene even better, more entertaining. I’m so glad that everyone is close like that, and it made it a really enjoyable experience. It was my first time having an on-screen pillow fight and being handcuffed!

7. What was the best part about filming a commercial with Joe Montana?

I didn’t actually follow his football career at the time because I was young then, but the best part would have to be making my dad and my brothers jealous! Plus, with a celebrity on set we got a fantastic lunch! The crafty and the food was amazing.

8. How did you enjoy shooting for AMF 300 Bowling?

Shooting AMF 300 Bowling was a lot of fun because we were actually able to go bowling! We also had a fake birthday party for the shoot, so we got to eat a lot of birthday cake!

9. Who have been some of your favorite people to work with this year?

I loved working with Bailee Madison, Kaila Maisonet, and the cast of Mulaney! It was my first time shooting a network TV sitcom, and I’m an SNL fan so being able to shoot with some of the SNL cast was thrilling for me!

10. Is there anything you can you tell us about your project Mr. Robinson?

I can’t say anything at this time, because they’re still in the middle of casting. However, I will say that Craig Robinson is a very funny guy and I’m really looking forward to seeing it!
