Tyree Brown plays the role of Jabbar on Parenthood. This year he’s been seen in a commercial for AAA and on an episode of NCIS! To keep up to date make sure to visit his official website and follow him on Twitter.
1. What has filming been like this year for Parenthood knowing it’s the final season?
Filming was extra special because I knew that it would be the last time filming with everyone and so it made me sad. But I’m happy because they will always be my family. We all cried on the last day of filming with the whole cast. I will miss them very much.
2. How did you enjoy recording Grandpa Zeek’s Birthday song?
It was a lot of fun recording because we were at a real recording studio and all the kids were together. Maybe we can do a Parenthood album of us singing sometime.
3. How do you like working with Hazel and Violet?
Hazel and Violet are so sweet and the cutest. I love playing with them and holding them. They really look like my sisters. I wish I could have worked with them longer.
4. What was the experience like working on NCIS?
NCIS was a lot different than Parenthood filming, but it was also really neat. It was cool because it was just with me and Connor Kalopsis so we got along very well. They shoot with only one camera and it took about 3 hours to shoot a 2 page scene. I really enjoyed it.
5. What was the best part of working on Mr. Box Office?
Bill Bellamy, Alex Thomas and Tony Roberts were the best part of filming Mr. Box Office. They are SO funny in real life and I laughed all day and had a good time with them. They film that show differently also. We rehearsed the episode one whole day and then filmed the next day. I like doing comedies.
6. How did you enjoy working with Bill Bellamy?
Bill Bellmay is a really funny guy and so nice too. He has a lot of energy and kept me laughing.
7. What was the process like filming your AAA commercial?
The AAA commercial was actually a lot of work because we had to stand still all day long and not move. We couldn’t blink when the camera was on. I didn’t know standing still was such hard work. Plus it was a hot day that day too and we worked the whole day. But the commercial looked awesome when it was done.
8. What was it like filming Jabbar’s birthday this season?
I love filming anything with other kids on set because I don’t get to do that too often. I’m a kid so I like to play while I work if I can also
And the backyard looked amazing after they decorated it.
9. How cool was it getting to work with Tyson Ritter?
Tyson is a cool guy. Very nice and just a cool guy. I’ve always been so lucky to work with such great actors. They are always nice to me.
10. What was your favorite scene to film for Parenthood this year?
My favorite scene this year was with the whole family at the end. I love filming with everyone. We all get along and like to be around each other. Plus we knew it was the last time we were going to get to film together.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
I hope I still get to work with any of the Bravermans in the future. I have worked over half of my life so I would like to continue working if I can. But i am so happy and thankful for the last 5 years i had as an actor on Parenthood.
We’d like to thank Tyree for participating in this year’s Holiday Q&A Event!
