2014 – Sloane Morgan Siegel

 

Sloane Morgan Siegel appeared on The Neighbors during season one. This year he appeared in Voodoo Possession and his series Gortimer Gibbon’s Life on Normal Street made its debut on Amazon! 1. What was the best part of working for Nintendo?

Their commercials are always fun and quick and they have brought me back several times for different products. Nintendo has also given me some of the products as a bonus for performing well.

 

2. What was your time on set like filming Voodoo Possession?

That film is very dark and I had a very serious role. It was intense, but a challenge I was up to. Since I’m a child actor, I was not exposed to any of the really horrible stuff.

 

3. How did you like working on Kid’s React?

I loved it as it was my first working gig here in Hollywood that was repetitive. Too bad it’s not union because I really enjoyed the staff, the kids, and the work. It helped me hone my improv skills.

 

4. What was it like attending Cartoon Network’s Hall Of Game Awards?

It was a blast. I got to meet some amazing athletes and see some awesome performers do their thing on stage. It’s fun to walk a red carpet even if it’s not for your own project.

 

5. How did you enjoy filming your Toys R Us commercials?

I loved it. Since it was a national ad campaign, we shot 16 different commercials over time and then followed up with voiceover too for radio and mix and matching the commercials. They had a ton of runs over the holidays and many friends saw them. They too gave me a great product of choice after the shoot.

 

6. What was your first day back to set for Gortimer Gibbon’s Life on Normal Street after it was picked up like?

It was magical, exciting and as stated in the end of the pilot – “It was time for a new story-a new beginning”. When you shoot a pilot, it’s fast and furious over five days, but when you get picked up for a season, you shoot for about 16 straight weeks. At that point you become a real cast and crew family. Many of the same folks that worked on the pilot also worked the series.

 

7. How do you like working with Ashley Boettcher?

Ashley is a well-seasoned actress who has been in the business much longer than I have. She’s a very nice person who is smart, talented, and driven just like her character Mel. It was a pleasure to work with and share the screen with her. Our chemistry shows on screen.

 

8. What is it like working with Fionnula Flanagan?

It was an amazing honor to work with her. She’s got some much experience and is such a sweet woman on set. She was perfect as Ms. Hudspeth, and brings a lot to the show. Ms. Flanagan makes everyone around her better.

 

9. What was the experience like attending the premiere for your own series?

Now that was special. I’ve been to many premieres for films I’ve been in and other TV shows, but this is my first Titular (Title) Leading role. It’s just that much more special when you know it’s your show. I’m so very proud of our cast and crew and how amazing the show is. When you watch it, you can see the love that goes into each and every scene. As soon as I walked into the theater for the screening, I realized my dreams were coming true.

 

10. What can viewers expect in season one of Gortimer Gibbon’s Life on Normal Street?

They can expect road rocket races, kids with bad luck, mysterious haunted bookmobiles, pencils that can erase memories, science fairs and crazy robots, and legends explained. The second half of season, one that will launch early next year, has some even more amazing happenings.
