Star-Kidz

Grant and Wyatt Ollivier are Paige’s younger brothers. The boys have been seen on American Horror Story, have held recurring roles on Shameless and True Blood, and more! To keep up to date make sure to keep checking back here at the site.

1. What was it like for Grant and Wyatt to film Blue-Eyed Butcher?

It was an amazing experience! They worked for 7 days and their “big brother” would come play in the trailer with them. They loved the cast and crew…especially all the snacks after they were done shooting scenes!

2. How did the boys enjoy working on American Horror Story?

It was a great cast and crew but working on a set where the time period was historical was a challenge. They never got comfortable wearing the costumes (a long white christening gown) and were constantly pulling off the bonnets!

3. What was the experience like for Grant and Wyatt to work on Shameless?

There were SO many kids on set all the time it was like a party! Between takes they would play with whoever else was on set that day. Even the adults were really fun and entertaining to be around!

4. Did they share equal time on screen or did one of them film more often?

Depending upon the scene one would work more than another. Wyatt was always alert and tracking so if they needed a baby to seem like he was paying attention or “deep in thought” they would use Wyatt. Grant was usually used for a sleeping baby or as the crying baby. Both ended up getting comparable screen time but some shots took longer to film than others.

5. How did Grant and Wyatt like working on True Blood?

It was THE BEST EXPERIENCE!! We cannot rave enough about TB! The cast and crew were so accommodating and the scenes were just hilarious! Every time we wrapped a scene everyone was cracking up because of how their character was being portrayed.

Grants favorite scene was when he filmed Baby Mikey writing “baby not yours” on the wall. He loved the smell of the scented marker and his face and hands were stained red for days after that scene!

Wyatts favorite scenes were when he got to work with Nelsan Ellis (Lafayette), especially when Lafayette kidnapped Mikey and was having a shoot out…they had a special bond.

6. What was it like for them to work with Carrie Preston?

She was wonderful! She is so funny and was always considerate of how the boys were doing in every scene.

7. Are there any funny stories from the True Blood set?

One fun tradition on set was to dress up this wooden duck in various costumes and place him in precarious positions. So every day it was fun to find the duck and see what crazy things he was wearing.

There were plenty of days when we came to set and saw signs everywhere “DO NOT BRING FOOD ON SET–LIVE JAGUARS!” And “LIVE ARMADILLO – He Bites!” TB had the most obscure wild animals that came to film so it was always funny to think “Oh here are these adorable 6 month old babies, jaguars, and an armadillo, all working on a show about vampires.”

8. Is there a way to tell the boys apart on screen?

Grant has chubbier cheeks and a rounder head. Wyatt has a narrower face.

9. Who have been some of their favorite people to work with?

Wyatt loved working with Nelsan Ellis. They would hang out in between takes and Wyatt thought he was fascinating. Nelsan was amazing with the boys…he’s a natural!

Grant loved working with Anna Paquin. She was immediately so caring and kind with the twins and was holding them and playing with them on their first day.

10. What is your favorite project that Grant and Wyatt have done so far?

They did an anti-smoking campaign commercial when they were 3 weeks old. It’s the sweetest commercial and it’s amazing to get to see them so young! It was their first job and it will always hold a special place in my heart.

We’d like to thank Grant, Wyatt, and their family for participating in this year’s Holiday Q&A Event!
