2014 – Emma Reed Martelli

 

Emma Reed is a young actress/model from Pennsylvania. Emma has worked for companies such as Babies R Us, Saks Fifth Avenue, and will be seen in the film Black Dog Red Dog. She can currently be seen for Joe Fresh and Target, and to keep up to date make sure to like her page on Facebook!

 

1. How did Emma get started in the industry?

Emma’s Daddy is a photographer and one of his friends that is a model suggested that we send her picture to his agency. A week later at 5 months old she was on her first job!

 

2. What was her first booking?

Packaging and website work for Nuna, a Dutch children’s/ baby gear company. They were wonderful to work with, she was featured sitting in one of their highchairs and were even nice enough to send us one of their buggy’s (stroller) that we still use today!

 

3. Does Emma have a favorite moment from walking the runway at petitePARADE?

Emma enjoyed being around all the other kids, she is very social. She had fun playing around during practice with the photographers and making silly faces. Fashion photographer Lev Radin was there to capture one of those faces and it’s become one of our family’s favorite pictures.

 

4. What was the experience like filming Black Dog Red Dog?

This was Emma’s first movie experience. The movie was set in the 1970’s and the wardrobe was fun! Emma and her Mom were given wardrobe to look like “hippies”, along with the other cast members. Emma made a friend on set, another toddler that was there for the day. They played all day long, the director loved how they interacted. The cast and crew were so nice and always checking in on the kids to make sure that they had enough to eat and drink. The set was on an old train that drove through farmland in NJ. In between shooting, the kids were playing in the fields and running around. She had a wonderful time on set with everyone.

 

5. How did Emma enjoy working for Saks Fifth Avenue?

She LOVED shooting for Saks with her friend Adriana. They were able to get behind the camera for a few pictures. The set was for Easter and Spring 2013 and she was so excited to wear a pretty dress and be featured on their website.

 

6. What was Emma’s favorite part of her Babies R Us shoot?

Emma loves getting her hair done at the BRU and TRU shoots. She comes home and pretends to do Mommy’s hair and makeup like they did for Emma.

 

7. How did Emma react when she saw herself on the packages for Spirit Halloween costumes?

Emma was so excited when she saw both of her costumes on display, she even screamed “that’s me!!”.

 

8. What has been one of the funniest or coolest moments to happen on set for one of her projects?

When Emma was in for wardrobe for Black Dog Red Dog, she was sitting next to actress Chloe Sevigney while they were both getting their hair and makeup done for the shoot. Chloe sat and talked with Emma and let her play with her brushes. Emma didn’t know who Chloe was other than the nice girl talking to her in makeup.

 

9. Who have been some of Emma’s favorite people to work with?

Emma always enjoys making friends on shoots, she likes to pretend she is one of the big kids. It’s hard for her to pick favorites when everyone has been so nice to her. The one that has been mentioned the most has been a dog that was on set for a Target shoot that belonged to one of the ladies in charge, she always brings up his hurt leg and how cute he was.

 

10. What has been Emma’s favorite job to work on so far?

Emma did a small part in an upcoming movie “Don’t Worry Baby” with actor Christopher McDonald and Dreama Walker. The set was at York Avenue Preschool and she was on set all day but it was more like play time. The kids played outside on the playground, had a mini gymnastics lesson inside, coloring in the kitchen and pizza with her new friends. She was also thrilled that the camera ops were giving her a free reign of the Snickers supply. Emma’s Mommy was even given a part and was told to pretend yell at the main actor. One of her favorite print jobs has been Target – very kid friendly, upbeat and fun atmosphere.
