Tate can currently be seen on the product packaging for Uncle Milton and Playmates Toys, and to keep up to date make sure to visit his official website!
1. What was the experience like working on Sons of Anarchy?
It was probably the coolest job I have ever done! Its my dads favorite show so he was so excited I was going to be on it! My moms friend is the transportation coordinator on the show so I got special treatment and got to check out all the motorcycles and sit on them and stuff!! I love motorcycles! The Sons seem like they would be scary but they were all so nice and cool!
2. Did you do anything special to prepare for your part?
Not really, my mom helps me learn my lines and then I practice. I think about what the character would be thinking and doing and that helps me. Sometimes if its something that I don’t understand or that is really huge I get coached and that helps too.
3. What was the best part about working on The Birthday Boys?
The Birthday Boys was a really easy job. Everyone was really nice on set. I remember that was the day of my class play and I had one of the lead roles. I went to school in the morning and did the first couple of performances, left to go film the Birthday Boys, and made it back to school in time for my last performance!
4. Do you have a favorite toy you got to shoot the packaging for this year?
Probably the Ninja Turtle one cause I got to shoot the weapon toy!
5. How did you enjoy working on Just Before I Go?
It is my very first feature film role so it was awesome! I got to go up to Big Bear to film some of the scenes. We shot on a lake, I got to go on a boat and after it was all over my mom let me go down these really cool water slides that go into the lake! Sean William Scott was really really nice and fun to work with. I also got to work with Clancy Brown (he played my dad) He also does the voices of Mr. Krabs on Spongebob so he would be silly with me all day! And Courteney Cox was nice too, it was her first movie that she directed. I can’t wait to see it!
6. What was it like working with Courteney Cox?
It was cool getting to work with her and meet her. One of my mom’s favorite shows is Friends and so I have seen her on that. I kept telling her how my mom still watches the show late at night and laughs so hard that we can all hear her when we are in bed. I also told her that I saw her as Fat Monica, she laughed.
7. What was the best part about attending the Martin Family Holiday Party?
It was so much fun seeing all my AMC family again. I love them all so much and miss them every day.
8. What was it like filming House Call?
It was cool! We got to film up in a fun place called Tejon Ranch. It was really pretty there. The kids that I worked with were nice!
9. Who have been some of your favorite people to work with this year?
Charlie Hunnam, Kim Coates, Sean William Scott and Clancy Brown!
10. What is your favorite job you’v done this year?
My favorite job was definitely Sons of Anarchy, because I got to meet all the guys, I got to hold a KG9, and see all the motorcycles. It was kind of a crazy role that had a lot of controversy but I thought it was cool and know that I was just acting and it wasn’t real. A lot of people recognized me from doing that show, it’s kind of cool!
We’d like to thank Tate for participating in this year’s New Years Eve Q&A series!
