2013 – Kian Silva

 

Kian Silva is a young actor/model from New York. His resume includes projects in television, print, and runway. Kian has worked for big name companies including Macy’s and Ralph Lauren, and he will be seen in season two of Orange is the New Black! To keep up to date make sure to like his page on Facebook!

1. How did Kian get started in the industry?

Everywhere I went everyone always told me how he should be in modeling, so after 2 years I submitted his pictures and he received a call back from everyone.

 

2. What was Kian’s first booking?

Kian’s first booking was a huge one he booked the Ralph Lauren stoppable storybook and video.

 

3. Does Kian have a favorite Macy’s shoot he’s done?

He says the last one which was for this coming Christmas. One because it was for Christmas and two because it was shot by his favorite photographer Lee Clower.

 

4. How did he react to seeing himself in the circular for the first time?

He was only 4 but old enough to say omg I’m on my dad’s computer. He saw it on Ralph Lauren’s website.

 

5. What was filming Orange is the New Black like?

I had so much fun. I had my first speaking role ever, and I was treated like a superstar. I even had my own dressing room and chair.

 

6. Does Kian have a favorite part about auditioning?

Yes Kian is a clown so he always has a joke or something fun to say during auditions.

 

7. What was the best part about working for Osh Kosh?

Seeing snow being made in 90 degree weather. I love it it was amazing.

 

8. What is one of the funniest or coolest things to happen on set?

He recently shot for C&A China and had so much fun on set they literally had the director in a headlock so at the end of the shoot the director hung him from his feet over the garbage and told him he was going to throw him away because he was done with the shoot.

 

9. Who have been some of Kian’s favorite people to work with?

I have made several friends, but to name a few who I have worked with and became close to are Sophia Torres, Adriana Camposano, Shmuli, Ekaterina, an Elladia and Hunter Jones.

 

10. What is Kian’s favorite project to work on so far?

My favorite project was Shooting for Elle Kids Italy. We went to a farm in Upstate NY. I made new friends and although it was very hot and rained off and on we had tons if fun and the photos were amazing.

 

Is there anything else you would like to add?

One thing I always tell Kian always be yourself. Do you best, you can’t book them all so don’t be disappointed because there will be plenty more opportunities where these came from. And no matter what school always comes first.
