2013 – Kellan Gower

 

Kellan Gower is a young actor/model from California. Since starting in the industry as a baby he has worked on films, commercials, print, and more. Kellan has been seen for big name companies including Infantino and Little Tikes, and you can keep up to date by visiting his official website and liking his page on Facebook!

1. How did Kellan get started in the industry?

When Kellan was 10 months old, a friend suggested that I get Kellan involved in the industry. I finally submitted him to her agent, via email in December that year, and he was accepted for representation within four hours. His first agency, Paloma Model and Talent, was building their represented database at that time, so the timing was perfect.
We have since moved on to Mavrick Artists Agency and Stevenson Talent Management, but he is at age where he is always redefining the types of jobs he is best at. That makes every day as exciting as the first.

2. What was Kellan’s first booking?

Kellan’s first job was with Kid’s Exclusive, an online clothing company. He started out as the face of baby boys on their website and later filmed a commercial for them that aired on Baby First tv.

3. What was the Little Tikes commercial shoot like?

What 2 year old would not love playing with toys for four hours and actually get paid for it? The Little Tikes commercial shoot was just that. Kellan was the youngest kid working that day and he had the opportunity to “get comfortable” with all the toys in the green room. The production company was great and really knew how to work well with kids.

4. What was the best part about the Vanity Fair shoot?

Kellan’s shoot with Vanity Fair was definitely his parent’s dream job – for him. Kellan worked on this editorial shoot with Seth McFarlane and Annie Leibovitz. Despite the celebrity factor, everyone was very nice and very sweet with Kellan. In fact, Kellan was very difficult to work with that day because it was his first trip to the beach and he was unhappy. Fortunately, Annie was comfortable with a baby crying in the shot and the final photo used shows him screaming at the top of his lungs (which made Seth very nervous.)

5. How did you react to seeing Kellan in Babiekins Magazine?

I am Kellan’s biggest fan. I wasn’t only person to get the first look at the Babiekins spread, an entire group of people in Barnes and Noble saw it too. I buy 3-4 copies and post on FB like crazy. Editorial is by far our favorite.

6. Do you have a favorite clothing shoot Kellan has done?

Kellan has modeled clothing for Kid’s Exclusive, Jelly the Pug, Disguise Costume and Little Bambino. We love shooting clothing with Natalie Warr in San Diego. Kellan has a great friendship with Natalie and loves to visit her and “stomp” it out.

7. What was your favorite part of Kellan’s Infantino shoot?

Kellan loves the crew at Infantino. For him, shooting with Infantino is like visiting family.

8. What is one of the funniest or coolest things to happen on set?

Kellan recently shot a short film, Zombies Ate My Neighbors. In one of the scenes, he has to pretend to collapse after being shot by an alien ray gun. Kellan is a dramatic kid all the time. He loves to re-enact elaborate death scenes at home while playing with water guns. When the Director told him to fall down, he got it on the first take. They had to shoot the scene three times because of issues with the other actors, but Kellan nailed it perfectly every time. The entire crew was shocked.

9. Who have been some of Kellan’s favorite people to work with?

Kellan enjoys any job that allows him to interact and play with other kids. He has worked with a variety of photographers, directors and actors, but just having the opportunity to do it with other children is probably his favorite.

10. What is your favorite project Kellan has worked on so far?

In my family, we are huge Walking Dead fans, even Kellan. We were really excited when he filmed Zombies Ate My Neighbors because of the comedy zombie element. We are waiting for the call to play a toddler zombie on The Walking Dead. Until then, shiny toys and clothes it is.
