2013 – Ava Giacchi

 

Ava Giacchi has been seen in television shows, commercials and has done several print jobs for big name companies. You’ve recently seen her in a commercial for Home Goods, on the cover of Kiwi Magazine and last Saturday she was in a sketch on Saturday Night Live! 1. How did you get started in the industry?

A friend of mine is an actor and he suggested I send my pictures to his management. So, I did and I have been going on auditions since.

 

2. What was your first job? Do you remember being on set for the first time?

My first job was to play Donald Trump’s classmate in a skit for Jon Stewart’s The Daily show! It was pretty funny. I met a good friend there, Zack.

 

3. Do you have a favorite memory from your Toys R Us shoot?

I have two. One photo shoot, I got to ride a bike and that was fun. The second photo shoot, I got to dress up like a princess and I love to dress up.

 

4. How did you feel when you first saw yourself on the cover of Kiwi Magazine?

I was so surprised and excited because I didn’t know I would be on the cover. I couldn’t wait to show all of my friends and family.

 

5. What was the best part about filming your Baby Alive commercial?

The best part of filming Baby Alive was the director telling me, I did a great job. So, he gave me a doll to take home. It was also the first time I ever got to ride on a train. The commercial was shot in Rhode Island.

 

6. Do you have a favorite photoshoot you’ve done for Women’s World?

My favorite Woman’s World magazine shoot is the New Year’s one because we got to make paper hats for me and my doll. And I got to bring my very own American doll to be in the photo shoot with me.

 

7. What was the experience like filming your Home Goods commercial?

It was fun filming Homegoods. We were in a giant house and my scene was in a beautiful purple bedroom. Everyone was super nice.

 

8. What was it like shooting for Christmas for Esika?

Esika was so much fun. I got to pop out of huge present. My fake mom and dad were fun, they hugged me a lot. But we did work hard for three days. We shot about 20 pages. My mom was happy because they let us keep all the beautiful clothes.

 

9. Who have been some of your favorite people to work with in the industry?

A few of my favorite people I shot with in the industry are Tina Fey, she is so funny. John Quinones, He is super nice. But I love when I work with my audition friends like Adriana, Zack, Mc Cayla and Tracey from What would you do?! We play and just have fun when we are waiting around to shoot.

 

10. What has been your favorite job so far?

I love shooting “What would you do?” Because it makes me laugh when I see people’s reactions when we tell them that is all fake and a joke. The people are always so relieved.

I also enjoyed shooting Scholastics because we created a snowy winter days project and we had to talk about it while creating it. I felt like we were in art class. It was fun.

 

Ava loves to dance, sing, play sports, and is learning how to play the piano. She has a younger brother who she loves to play with when she is not on an audition. She hopes to be on a Tv show like Ant Farm or Good Luck Charlie one day. Her teachers tell me she writes about being at the Oscars when she grows up. They love that she has a dream and is doing something about it. She is a hard worker, so bubbly, funny, and she is a sweet girl.
