2012 – Natalie Alyn Lind

 

Natalie Alyn Lind has several credits to her name from One Tree Hill to Wizards of Waverly Place and iCarly. This year she has appeared in the TV movie Playdate, been in a commercial for Lexus and been working with her sisters on their very own movie! 1. What was your favorite part of filming Mockingbird? How it was working together as a family on the same project?

Scary movies are my favorite genre, so I was so excited to be in Mockingbird. I knew Bryan, the director, already and I’ve always really liked him. I knew he would make the whole experience fun and interesting. I’m not affected by gore in movies. I’m just so fascinated with prosthetics and fake blood, and how to create affects. I learned so much working on this film. I didn’t have any scenes with my sisters, but it was great that we were all in it.

 

2. Do you have a favorite part from filming your Lexus commercial?

OK – so I like scary movies, and ANYTHING to do with Christmas! So it was so cool to shoot the commercial with snow – especially because we shot it in Los Angeles in September! I think it was 95 that day!

 

3. What was the hardest thing about getting a project like The Last Birthday started (or accomplished)?

My sisters and I learned so much shooting our own movie. We knew the whole process would be a lot of work, but we had no idea how much! Just coordinating people’s call-times was practically impossible! The actual shooting part was the easiest and most fun. NOW, we’re into editing – I will NEVER take an editor for granted again!

 

4. I know lots of people have probably asked you what (adult) actors/actresses you would like to have the chance to work with in the future but my question is….if you could work with any young teen/child actors/actresses who would it be?

I know it sounds kind of corny, but I would love to play my sisters’ sister….ALL of us play sisters in a movie…We would work together so well – and it would be so believable! Let’s make it a scary movie! But we all live in the end!!!

 

5. What was your favorite part in filming Playdate?

Wow, my favorite part of Playdate was….everything! I loved working with Aidan and my director was so great. Once again, I loved the genre….anything scary or thrilling is my thing. My parents were so much fun. Hair and makeup sooo good – I can’t wait to work with all of them again.

 

6. Natalie I loved your tv movie ‘Playdate’. Is it true that you got to do some of your own stunts on that film? If so, could you explain how you trained for that and how it felt doing your own stunts?

I’m a pretty physical person. Whenever they’ll let me, I’ll always do my own stunts. Actually, I’ve always thought about pursuing stunts. It’s so thrilling, being on set, getting prepped by the stunt coordinator – with the whole crew watching – knowing that you probably have ONE take – and you better get it right! And then when you do, everyone claps and cheers.

 

7. Do you have a favorite scene you filmed for the movie?

I always love the most emotional scenes – I liked the scene where I broke my arm falling off the playset, screamed and cried. I also liked that nobody really knew what happened. The crying scenes are always the most demanding, but the most fulfilling. When they’re over, you really feel like you’ve worked.

 

8. Being the oldest sister, do you help Aly or Emily learn lines or work on their project?

We all work together as a team. I help Aly with lines or school – Emily helps my mom run lines – Aly helps Emily….Just as long as we all get it done. We have a pile of sides (scripts) that we go over every day. There is never a day that one of us isn’t learning lines. We’re like the crazy family, always walking around talking to ourselves or walls, but we love it. And what’s so cute, is that Aly learns EVERYONE’s lines! She could probably go is on ALL of our roles!

 

9. Do you and your sisters learn from each other by watching one another’s work? Whether it be while on set or seeing one another’ finished project…

I think my sisters are really good actresses. I learn from seeing their projects – but I also learn a lot of watching them rehearse their lines. We’re like a little mini acting school – 4 actresses learning from each other. We can’t really get away from it at home!

 

10. I read somewhere that you tried to match the colors of your dresses or outfits for events that you and your sisters attend. Is that true and if so, can you tell us a little bit about how you prepare with your sisters for an event? Such as your favorite brand of dresses and accessories; favorite shoes; how long it takes for you all to get your hair done…etc. Stuff like that.

My family has put me in charge of fashion. Someday I would love to have my own line. I love mixing and matching styles – We all have such different tastes, but I like us to look like we belong together when we go to events. Emily loves Zoey – which is more traditional and classic. I love Free People or Betsy Johnson – I’m a little more quirky …Aly loves Flowers by Zoey, which is girly and cute. Event days at our house are insane! It’s like backstage at a fashion show – clothes, makeup, headbands, jewelry…everywhere! But all of us LOVE it! We have so much fun throwing it all together and walking out the door – acting like it was SO easy!
