2012 – Mackinlee Waddell

 

Mackinlee Waddell can currently be seen on the hit ABC show GCB as Mckinney Peacham. Mackinlee was born in Dallas, Texas and began her acting career at age 13, landing several indie and short film roles before booking GCB in 2011. We have had the pleasure of getting to interview this wonderful young actress, and you can read what she has to say about her work on GCB and her amazing efforts working with the Children’s Miracle Network. At what age did you start acting and what inspired you to start?

I started acting when I was about 13. I had open heart surgery when I was 5 and I soon after became a spokesperson for Children’s Medical Center/Children’s Miracle Network. After speaking in front of large crowds, people said I had a lot of poise and confidence and should try the acting world, and so I decided to take a class, and fell helplessly in love with acting.

 

Tell us about your role on the new hit show GCB.

I play Mckinney Peacham, and I’m Jennifer Aspen’s daughter! Mckinney is kind of a mean girl at first, but then you see her become a little more like her mom after a few episodes, naive, and spoiled. It’s really fun to get to play the role!

 

What other acting have you done before landing the role on GCB?

I’ve done a few indie films, and shorts. And I also do some work and train with the Groundlings!

 

Tell us about your charity work with Children’s Miracle Network.

I’ve always wanted to be able to help people by sharing my story. So i started doing some charity work with Children’s Miracle Network. I often speak at fundraisers and events to help raise money for the Network, and awareness of heart conditions like mine. I’ve always hoped that sharing my story would give someone hope, and so I will continue to do this charity work for the rest of my life!

 

What advice you can give our readers that inspire to be an actress like yourself?

Never give up, If it’s really what you want to do, then stop at nothing to make your dreams come true. (:

 

What actress do you like and would love to work with in the future?

Kristen Wiig is a big inspiration to me. She’s on SNL and she also starred in the movie Bridesmaids!

 

Tell us anything you want our readers to know about you.

I’m a big goofball! I love having fun, and playing jokes on people! It’s what I do(: I also love to create characters and silly voices. I was a competitive cheerleader for 7 years and school cheerleader in middle school before I got into acting. My family has 5 dogs and 2 horses and 1 cat. We are big animal lovers!
