Baylie and Rylie play Hope Chance on the Fox hit show Raising Hope. In its second season the show was just renewed for a season three yesterday! Baylie and Rylie love working with their second family and if you haven’t seen Raising Hope yet make sure to tune in tonight for the two part season finale and be ready for a ton of laughs. To keep up with the girls you can check out their Official Website and follow them on Twitter!
1. How did Baylie and Rylie get started in the industry?
A girlfriend of mine has identical twins and was with our agency Zuri Model and Talent and recommended that I email in a picture and said it would be very fun and easy for the girls since they really look for identical twins…we sent one picture in and the agent picked them right up when they were just about a month old 🙂
2. What was the first day on set of Raising Hope like?
The first day on set was great..nerve racking for me(mom) of course but the girls were only 6 months old so they were happy the whole time. The entire cast came in and got to know them but it went very smooth to my surprise.
3. What is it like working with Lucas Neff and Shannon Woodward?
Lucas is really like their 2nd Dad…he takes full control on screen and the girls reach for him they absolutely love him. Also the same for Shannon! She comes in our baby room so much we have so many videos of all 3 & 4 of them dancing and playing around. Shannon loves to hang out with them and they are so great with her! Shannon and Lucas are so much like their 2nd mom and dad!
4. How do the girls enjoy working with Martha Plimpton, Garret Dillahunt and Cloris Leachman?
The entire cast is amazing! The girls have this amazing level of comfort with Martha, she is so loving and has such a mother instinct…they love being on set with Martha. Garret just cracks them up…its amazing how he has such a tight bond with them. He makes them laugh so much and loves to play with them and make them giggle on set! Cloris just adores Baylie and Rylie! She is such a warm hearted person the girls love playing with all of her jewelry. The entire cast really has this special bond with the girls, its incredible to watch!
5. Baylie and Rylie are always on cue with actions in the scenes, is there anything special you or the show do?
In season 1 I would make silly faces or try to get their attention and just hoped for the best. In one scene I had a banana and they wanted her to point at the floor so I dropped it and Baylie jumped and pointed…it was just luck! and in both seasons they used a flashing light to get their attention for a long period of time. In season 2 it was harder because when they saw me they would start to cry so I hid behind the cameras and the crew took over! The actors and the camera men made them laugh or look certain ways but their silly faces and reactions are truly from whats happening in the show. They react so great to the actors around them its pretty easy to get that perfect face 🙂
6. How did Baylie and Rylie enjoy working with the pig a couple episodes ago?
The girls loved the pig! I’m always surprised when they see something new like that, but they amaze me and go right into the scene without a problem…Rylie got to feed it and she was so excited! They both wanted to pet it and hang out with it.
7. What have been some of the funniest things to happen behind the scenes?
So many funny things happened every day…whether the girls were trying to go to the bathroom in the middle of a scene or if they sneezed. Baylie got a hold of Martha’s hair one time and tried ripping it out (she was about 8 months). All their expressions on the show surprise us and we all just laugh the whole time! The entire time filming is so much fun.
8. Do you have a favorite scene the girls have filmed?
My favorite scene the girls filmed was probably when the girls played Hillary Clinton…I couldn’t stop laughing it was so great. Or when they needed to draw on the walls, it was so hard because they kept looking at me like they knew it was wrong and I was trying to tell them it was ok but they wouldn’t do it for the longest time.
9. What has been your favorite Raising Hope memory so far?
The best memories are everyday on set with these wonderful people. Behind the scenes when everyone’s laughing with the girls or dancing to music and just having a good time.
10. Is there anything you can tell us about the Raising Hope season finale?
The season finale is funny but emotional! When we all read the script i think most of us were shocked with what happens. It’s really good!
We’d like to thank Baylie and Rylie’s mom for participating in our Q&A Series and please make sure to watch part one of the Raising Hope season finale tonight at 9:30/8:30c on Fox!
