Nicolas Bechtel

Nicolas Bechtel took over the role of Spencer Cassadine on General Hospital in 2013 when the character was de-aged and returned home. This was not Nicolas’ first appearance on a daytime soap however, he had been seen in an episode of Days of Our Lives the year prior. While Nicolas did only a handful of episodes his first year on the soap, it wasn’t long before the writers started giving Spencer more to do and created a love triangle storyline between the kids on the show. Even after that storyline came to a close, the show continued to showcase a lot of Nicolas, with both his way of delivering both a dramatic and comedic side to Spencer entertaining viewers. In 2016, however, his time on the show became rare as his role on the Disney show Stuck in the Middle needed most of his time, freeing him for summer appearances on the soap. General Hospital worked with this and wrote in some fun storylines for Nicolas in the weeks they could use him on the show. Nicolas’ last appearance on General Hospital came in 2020 and the character was eventually aged.

Career Highlights

Nicolas started off in the industry doing commercial and modelling work. Early on he appeared on episodes of The Goodwin Games and Good Luck Charlie and booked his first recurring role in the short lived FOX series Rake. Nicolas has several guest starring roles to his name including episodes of Baby Daddy and Grey’s Anatomy. He was in the films Underdog Kids and I Still Believe, and became a red carpet reporter for the entertainment news show Extra, interviewing big name celebrities at various industry events. He played a young Rob Kardashian in The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story and landed the role of Lewie Diaz in the Disney Channel series Stuck in the Middle which ran for three seasons.

Current Updates

Nicolas continued in the industry after his time on General Hospital wrapped, last appearing in an episode of American Horror Story in 2021. He continues to post snapshots on his social media, but nothing has been said about what he is up to now career wise.
