Edward and James Nigbor took over the role of Jacob Webber on General Hospital in 2007. While the boys are easy to tell apart being fraternal twins with different shades of blonde hair they continued to play the role for three years seeing Jake age from an infant to a preschooler. Edward and James left the role in 2011 when Jake was killed off in a hit and run.

General Hospital was not Edward and James’ only soap however. They did double duty playing the role of Jack Marone on The Bold and the Beautiful in 2009, but only appeared in a couple of episodes before being recast and the character was aged.

In 2015, James returned to General Hospital when the show decided to re-write Jake’s death, revealing he was still alive. Even though Edward and James had left the business at the time, the show reached out offering the opportunity to reprise the role, and James opted to return to the show. He appeared in several episodes over the next few months before the decision was made to recast.

Career Highlights

Edward and James appeared in an episode of Unhitched as infants, and when James returned to the industry to reprise the role of Jake he began auditioning again. During this time he did an episode of Conan and played Young Kenneth in the online soap The Bay.

Current Updates

James left the industry not long after exiting the role of Jake and not much released on his social media afterwards either. It is noted that James has focused on sports and pursuing a career in emergency services while Edward has focused on sports and music.

    Stars Say

    • “Did you see the scene with Elizabeth, Jason and the kids at the park and then Monica comes in? The baby kept turning around to look at Steve! We were like ‘Dont look! Dont look at your Daddy!’ But he kept trying to find him, like, ‘Where is he?’ Oddly enough, it was actually in character for the tot to do so!…Its really great that the babies have been here so long. Generally, when your working with ones that little, they are recast so often because they start to become uncomfortable. But these two are great. We spend lots of time with them, so they don’t have any inhibitions.” – Becky Herbst, ABC Soaps In Depth
