2018 – Ryan and Holden Hare

Ryan and Holden Hare play the role of Johnny Abbott on The Young and the Restless. This year they have been busy working on episodes and working with some of their favorite cast members!

1. What is a typical work day like at Y&R?
Holden and Ryan are now in first grade which means they have to do school with the set teacher before their scenes. So we usually get to CBS a few hours before they are actually set to film and then After their scenes their favorite thing to do is walk across to the Grove and visit Dylan’s Candy Shop!

2. How do Ryan and Holden learn their lines?
We are given the script the week before the episode tapes so each night we do a quick run through of their lines.

3. Do the boys both get prepared to go on set still or does only one get ready now that they are older?
Depending on how many scenes for that day usually only one will get ready and the other will be “ready” to get ready quickly if needed! Although if they are given Split call times then both boys get ready as that means we will be using both of them to film that episode!

4. How did Ryan and Holden like working with Thad Luckinbill?
Thad was super friendly and easy to work with.

5. What is the best part of filming with Melody Thomas Scott?
She is a true Professional. The scenes always go smoothly and quickly with her.

6. What was it like to go back to the YR studio later this year?
The boys missed their Y&R family after having a few months off! They were so excited to be back and no one could believe how much they had grown! They got lots of hugs that day!

7. Do Ryan and Holden ever try to trick the cast or crew about who’s who, or can everyone always tell them apart?
The cast and crew still have no idea who is who! Every time they walk on set Amelia (their TV mama) says “ok let me guess…are you…” and she is right about 50% of the time! haha

8. What is their favorite holiday to film for on the show?
They love the Christmas episodes! Lots of candy canes and hot chocolate every year and this year even some real snow on the ground for an outside scene that they of course had to pick up and throw at each other once filming was done!

9. Is there anyone new to the cast they would like to work with next year?
The boys love meeting new people and would love the opportunity to work with any of the new cast members!

10. What else have Ryan and Holden been up to this year?
Aside from auditions the boys have kept busy with all their sports and friends!
