O’Neill Monahan plays the role of Rocco Falconeri on General Hospital. This year he has also been seen on Code Black, Teachers, The Middle and more!
1. What was the experience like working on Code Black?
Code Black was pretty cool. The sets were really realistic. And the people were super nice. And there were real doctor experts there to help the producers.
2. How did you like filming with Kylie Rogers?
Kylie was awesome to work with. She was able to make herself really cry, and that was so impressive. I hope I get to work with her again!
3. What was the process that went into filming the medical/surgery scene?
First, they had to fit me for a prosthetic chest, which felt weird cause they put this green slime all over my chest. And then when we filmed, they put the fake chest on top of my real chest and used a plastic scalpel that had this blood capsule in it to make it look like he was actually cutting the fake skin. That scene freaked out my grandma.
4. How did you enjoy returning to The Middle for the series finale?
It was great to see everyone in the cast and crew, especially Reagan & Beau. But it was also really sad, because I knew it was the last time we’d all get to be there together.
5. What was your time on set like filming Teachers?
Teachers was a whole lot of fun. It films at a real school, but it’s empty, so that was weird. And everyone was super funny and really nice.
6. What’s the best part about working with other kids?
I love working with other kids because it makes the time in between filming not boring. I get to make new friends, play Minecraft and other games. If I’m the only kid on set it gets kinda boring.
7. Do you have a favorite thing about working on General Hospital?
My favorite thing about General Hospital is how fast it goes. They rehearse it and then film it, and you don’t have to do a lot of takes, especially if you do it right the first time.
8. How did you enjoy working with Josh Swickard?
Josh is a great actor, and so nice. I got to pull up his eyes, which was creepy but also funny. I hope to get to do more in the next year.
9. Is there someone in the cast you hope to get to film with next year?
I really hope I get to do more scenes with Emme next year. She’s the best and so fun.
10. Is there anything you can share about your episode of Cousins for Life?
Yes! It’s going to be crazy and my episode is really messy. Also, Dallas, Scarlett & Micah were so much fun to work with and made me feel so welcome that week. It’s a really funny show, and I can’t wait to watch it.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
I just got to play Donald Trump on Jimmy Kimmel, and I got to wear the craziest wig. I got to do my impersonation, and the other actors were all so funny. It was the first time I performed in front of a big crowd, and I was nervous, but it went great. I’m thankful my family, my friends, and that I get to film cool things.
