Kate Polsfut appeared in an episode of General Hospital near the end of last year. She has been seen on Conan, in the short film Wrestle Club and more.
1. How old were you when you started acting? What lead you to acting?
I started dancing when I was two, but I started taking acting classes at four and got my first agent and manager at five.
2. What was your time on set like filming Wrestle Club?
Wrestle Club was really fun! I loved doing the martial arts stuff. Chris Bruno was a great director and we had so much fun with him.
3. Do you continually take acting classes? Or do you take a break during the year?
I pretty much taking acting classes year-round. I think it’s important to continually learn. I also work with a coach a couple times each month.
4. Who has been the biggest influence on your career?
I’m lucky to have many positive influences in my life & career. I can probably list 100 people who positively influence me each day! My parents have 100% supported me. My manager, April Baker, has stuck with me and encouraged me even when I don’t often book jobs. My acting coach, Jen Jacobson is so patient and continually pushes me to be the very best I can be.
5. Which do you enjoy more, acting in a drama or a comedy?
Although I haven’t done a lot of dark comedy I really like it. But I really like drama too. I like drama because I use my emotion, but I just like acting. So as long as I am working or working on my craft I am happy.
6. Where is your favorite shooting location so far?
I loved being on the General Hospital set. All of the various vignettes were really cool. On Just Take One, the set was a living room with a sheet fort in the middle. It was fun playing in the “fort” and filming in it too.
7. What was it like working on General Hospital? Did you enjoy the atmosphere of a soap opera set?
General Hospital was a good experience. I loved how fast-paced the shoot was. The actors are amazing that they film an entire one hour episode in one day. I liked the soap opera atmosphere, I liked how the park set actually looks like it’s outside!
8. How long did it take to film your scenes?
I was on set for General Hospital for about six hours. It was really fast!
9. Which actor or actress have you most enjoyed working with?
I loved working with my friend, Ava Bianchi on Wrestle Club. Ava is the nicest girl ever. I also really liked working with Maya Compton on Just Take One! We became good friends and I’d love to work with her again.
10. What has been your favorite project so far?
I loved working on the Conan O’Brien show. The shoot was fun and I enjoyed the other kids I worked with. I also loved Wrestle Club because I met so many nice people and made many new friends. I just love performing. I love being on stage too like when I danced in The Nutcracker. So as long as I am entertaining I am doing what I love.
