2018 – Caroline Valencia

Caroline Valencia is a young actress and model in the New York City area. Since our last Q&A with her she has been busy shooting for Kohls, Scholastic, Lego and more!

1. What was the experience like shooting for Kate Spade?
Shooting for Kate Spade was fun because I got to wear a beautiful pink tutu and run around, so basically that was heaven.

2. How did you enjoy working for Flapdoodles?
It seems like such a long time ago working for Flapdoodles, but I do remember having so much fun and loving all of the bathing suits. It was my first shoot in a bathing suit!

3. What has been the best part of shooting for Kohls/Jumping Beans?
The best part of shooting for Kohls is that we always have fun on set. We played musical chairs, we played see saw! I made lots of nice friends that I still see on auditions all of the time!

4. How did you enjoy working with the other kids for the shoot?
I see a lot of them still! They are all super friendly and pretty and we get along great!

5. What was it like seeing yourself in their flyers?
I love seeing myself in flyers, but every time, I’m like wait, what? That’s me? wow! the pictures are always so great! They pick the best ones, that’s for sure!

6. What was your time on set like filming for Novo Nordisk?
Oh! that was super fun because I got to do real acting. The director was awesome, and I was pretty much the only character. My grandma is actually just the camera and she gets dizzy, so the camera gets blurry. Afterward My sister and I got to swim in the hotel pool as long as we wanted which was awesome in the middle of cold weather season! We also had an amazing breakfast with a view of trinity church on Wall Street, where Hamilton is buried! I happen to be in the children’s chorus at Trinity Church-so that was cool to sit quietly and look at it.

7. Do you have a favorite moment of doing the holiday shoot for Lego?
Well, I was kind of upset that I wasn’t shooting. I didn’t know that I was my sisters “back up”. Me? a back up? I went on to to give her a break and they tested lighting on me. I guess I did ok, because I ended up in the store window right next to my sister! I was also hired for the Lego commercial that year- but the production timed out my mom said.. and I didn’t get to go on! I was kind of sad, but it was still fun being on set and they gave me Legos to go home with, so that was pretty cool!

8. What was the best part of seeing your image up in their stores?
The best part was that I was in the window with my sister! who knows if that will ever happen again! I hope it does! It was cool to see it all over the place, but to see it at Rockefeller Center at Christmas time was like New York magical! We were on the Long Island Railroad, and we met some people on the train…later we saw them at Rockefeller center – they saw us on the storefront window and they said “wait, what?” is that you guys? It was pretty funny. We felt famous and they took their pictures with us in front of the window and inside the store were my sisters picture was also hanging.

9. Who has been your favorite person to work with recently?
I worked for Scholastic a couple of times recently. I worked with an adult actress that showed me how to do some gymnastic moves. We always meet really cool people on the set. Cool actors, director and cool kids.

10. Is there anything you can share about your Scholastic shoot?
I have no idea where I will end up! If you see me – please snap a photo and send it to me! I have all the tecahers at my school on the look out for magazine pictures or website pictures.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

I hope that this year turns out to be great! I have some new awesome agents this year and am hoping that 2019 will be awesome! I’m ready!
