Cameron Boyce

Cameron Boyce played the role of Michael ‘Stone’ Cates Jr on General Hospital: Night Shift in 2008 and appeared in several episodes of the show. Around that time he was seen in the films Mirrors and Eagle Eye as well. From there Cameron went on to appear in the Grown Ups film franchise and episodes of Good Luck Charlie and Shake it Up. His big break came in 2011 with his first Disney Channel series Jessie.

After four seasons Jessie ended its run, however, he carried his character Luke over to Bunk’d for two episodes of that series that saw his on screen siblings away at camp. Cameron did not follow the other kids over to Bunk’d as a series regular as he landed his own Disney XD series Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything which ran for two seasons on the network. During that time he also filmed the Disney Channel film Descendants as Carlos. The film franchise released its third and final installment on August 2, 2019.

Cameron passed away on July 6, 2019. His cause of death was ruled natural due to an epilepsy-related seizure. In the wake of his passing, Disney Channel cancelled the red carpet premiere for the final Descendants movie and paid tribute to him the night of the movie’s release. His family also set up The Cameron Boyce Foundation to continue his legacy of helping causes he cared deeply about.
