Shannon Davenport is a young actress from the NYC area. She has been seen for Simplicity, Girl Guides, and if Sprout is on often in your household you have most likely seen one of her numerous appearances on the Sunny Side Up Show this year! To keep up to date on what Shannon is working on make sure to like her manager’s page on Facebook.
1. How did you get started in the industry?
My mom sent my pictures to different agencies and managers when I was 4, and it just happened from there.
2. What was the experience like filming for Glamour Magazine?
It was a little nerve wracking because it was one of my first videos and it had lots of costume changes and lines, but it ended up being so much fun and inspiring to see all of those jobs. It took almost 5 hours to film!
3. Do you have any favorite occupations you got to try out for the video?
For some reason I loved being the plumber! But also the scientist and the security guard.
4. How did you react when you found out you booked a series of The Sunny Side Up Show episodes?
I was super excited. At first I just knew that it was for Sprout but then I found out I would be meeting Chica!
5. What was the coolest thing you did on the show?
Oh my goodness there were so many fun things! The hat party, the dragon song, playing pie in the face with Carly, singing songs and talking about my glasses for my kindness story.
6. How did you prepare to film your Kindness Story for the show?
I just really thought about my life deep in my heart and I started to talk about how one of my friends made me happy by being kind.
7. What was the best part of working for Simplicity?
I got really long hair extensions for a Star Wars type costume and I got to become Mal from Descendants with purple hair and all!
8. How did you enjoy shooting for Girl Scouts?
It made me want to try and be a Girl Scout in real life. The new uniforms are so cute, and I love the cookies!
9. Who have been some of your favorite people to work with?
This is easy. Carly and the other hosts from the Sunny-Side Up Show on Sprout. They were all so friendly and talented. They made me so comfortable and we had a blast. I also loved the hairstylist from my Nickelodeon promo for Sunny Day. She turned me into a very real looking lion!
10. What has been your favorite project to work on so far?
Sunny Day was my first job for Nickelodeon and I got to be a lion, and be on a really cool set. I also really enjoyed my first voiceover job for Sesame Street! I got to sing a very catchy song. It’s still in my head actually.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
I just want to say thank you to my manager Colette from CP Talent Management. I am so lucky to have all of these opportunities. It’s a lot of fun.
