2016 – Luke Burke

 

Luke Burke is a young model from the New York City area. He has been seen for The Children’s Place, Carter’s, and keep an eye out for him for GAP! To keep up to date make sure to follow him on Instagram.

 

1. How did Luke get started in the industry?

I started Luke in the industry because I always felt that he had a certain look that I wanted to share with others. He is so darn cute! I never thought we would get this far with it! I researched online and found a manager. I learned a lot from her, everything, she was patient, honest and became a friend. We had a great fit.

2. What is the best part of shooting for The Children’s Place?

Best part for shooting for The Children Place was meeting the other kids that were with the same management company. Its funny when you see their pictures online but when you meet in person its pretty cool. I love talking to other mothers in the industry. Everyone was so nice on set!

3. How did you react to seeing him in stores?

The first time I saw Luke in stores was an omg moment. I always thought he was something special but to see him on packaging was wow he really did it!

4. What was his time on set like shooting for Carter’s?

Carters was so cool! We had the audition, then that night the producer contacted me that they wanted Luke the following day for the fitting and then the next two days of shoots. It was amazing, the auction was all day and they saw hundreds of kids. He was picked out of them all to start the shoot. He did 3 outfits for that shoot. Then two weeks later they asked him back for 2 more outfits. Again everyone couldn’t have been nicer!

5. What was the experience like for him to shoot for Parents Magazine?

Parents magazine shoot was one of the first major things he got. It was one of the most adorable shoots. He was in the Halloween shoot and was dressed as little bear. We met another girl from the agency and mom. We quickly hit it off and they were in the same shot together.

6. How did Luke react to seeing himself in the issue for the first time?

He was surprised. The first thing he said was there’s Lukey! He had a huge smile. He was proud. It def doesn’t hit him like it does me. I couldn’t be more proud of this little guy! Its tough to get in front of tons of people on set and follow directions and “perform”.

7. What was his day shooting for Target like?

Target was pretty cool as well. Another major thing. It was very organized. He shot with them 2 times. Another cool job.

8. How did Luke enjoy shooting for Toys R Us?

Toys R Us was so fun for him. Who doesn’t want to play with toys. He shot with them several times. He loved it! Again very organized.

9. Who have been some of his favorite people to work with?

Seeing repeat models is cool. Catching up with them online and seeing their growth is so cool. The wranglers are huge. So important. This was one wrangler in particle Michael was so fun. He made Luke crack up and always remembered him by name. He made being on set fun!

10. What has been Luke’s favorite project to work on?

I think so far one of his most favorite was Carters, Children’s Place and Gap. We connected with people. There was a lot of repeat models we saw.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Its been fun watching Luke’s growth. He is sort of shy normally in front of groups but he really comes out of his shell when in front of the camera. He is a mini professional when he is up there. This industry is def competitive, you need to be committed and able to do things last minute. I’m a planner by nature, so at first this whole thing was new to me. Getting a go see the day before, missing school, etc you have to be up for. The minute Luke starts complaining we will take a break. I never want it to be not fun for him. He will start kindergarten next year. We will be having to take it much easier come that time.
