Miya Cech is a young model and actress from the Los Angeles area. She has shot for Old Navy, Gymboree, and been seen in episodes of Hawaii Five-0 and American Horror Story. To keep up to date make sure to follow her on Twitter and Instagram.
1. How did you get started in the business?
At age 2, a photographer saw Miya and her older sister walking in a Nordstrom fashion show and asked Mom if they would be interested in modeling for her friend’s dress brand, “Ooh La La Couture”. We are still great friends with Jen and Annie at OLL and Jennifer (the photographer).
2. What was it like walking the runway for Gwen Stefani’s Harajuku Lovers line?
It was so super exciting! There was so much energy and music- it was like a big Harajuku Party! My first real modeling booking was for Harajuku Mini when I was 4 years old so it was so cool to get to model for Gwen again!
3. What is the best part of shooting for Old Navy?
Getting to know the crew who are all AMAZING. They’ve become like family! Also, working with so many cool kids from all over the US!
4. Do you have a favorite shoot you have done for Gymboree?
We once got to shoot at the LA Zoo which was so fun! We spent the whole day with the animals and at the end of the day, we rode the carousel with the whole crew.
5. What was your time on set like filming your Hawaii Five-0 episode?
The best time! I got to travel to Hawaii and work with Catherine Kim and Grace Park. There’s nothing better than getting to film on the beautiful beaches of Hawaii!
6. How did you enjoy filming for The Talk?
I didn’t know that it would be a live taping until the morning we taped the show. We (the mini hosts) were so excited! It was my first time in front of an audience. Julie Chen was SO nice and it was exciting because she’s always been one of my role models. The icing on the cake was getting to meet Jennifer Nettles who was a guest on the show that day. She’s one of my favorite country singers.
7. What was it like doing a live taping for The Thundermans?
Miya’s scene was not taped live. 🙂 But the best part of that job was that my friends Maya (who plays Chloe) and Addie (who plays Nora) were on set and we got to hang out all day.
8. Is there anything you can share about your role in Unbound?
In Unbound, I play the young version of the main character, Kitsune. It’s a mix between a sci fi and fantasy story. There’s a lot of special effects and Kitsune goes through a huge metamorphosis;-)
9. Who have been some of your favorite people to work with?
Eagle Egilsson who directed my episode of H50, Julie Chen, Kathy Bates, Gwen Stefani… Everyone who I’ve worked with has been so awesome and I’m so lucky to have had these opportunities!
10. What has been your favorite project to work on so far?
Hawaii Five-0 will always be so special because it was my first network TV guest role and also American Horror Story because I felt like I learned so much as an actor and it was my first time working on a scary show.
We’d like to thank Miya for participating in our November Q&A series!
