2015 – Hailey and Aiden Medina

 

Hailey and Aiden Medina are young actors/models from the New York City area. This year Hailey has been busy working on local theatre productions while you probably saw Aiden in multiple epsidoes of ABC’s What Would You Do? 1. Hailey, what was the best part of being involved in The Arts Effect?

Every session was a lot of fun and it taught me so many techniques that really influenced the way I performed.

 

2. Did you do anything special to prepare for your role in Rent?

I went to several character development workshops provided by my school that really helped in building and distinguishing my characters.

 

3. Do you have a favorite song that you performed in the show?

La Vie Boheme was probably my favorite song from Rent because it was so energetic and made the audience go crazy.

 

4. What was the experience like working on a production of The Wizard of Oz?

The Wizard of Oz was a really great show to do because of all of the new and aspiring members that I got to meet, work with, and build friendships.

 

5. What else have you been up to this year?

Well, I’ve been dancing since first grade and continue with that two nights a week. In addition, I’m in a select chorus group and many clubs that keep me super busy.

 

6. Aiden, what was it like returning to film for What Would You Do?

It’s always an awesome time with the cast and crew from the show. Funny stuff always happens behind the scenes and during our lunch break. All the episodes are so different, and it’s great being able to use my improv skills.

 

7. Do you have a favorite scenario you filmed for?

My imaginary friend episode was really hysterical. The producers named my friend Johnny and the inside joke that I can now share is that Johnny was John Quinones.

 

8. What was one of your favorite reactions you got to witness filming one of the episodes?

In the spot about my actor mom and me being too poor to afford a toy was really unforgettable. Even though it’s acting, people’s reactions to me are real. It was very touching when people stepped in and paid the difference when we didn’t have enough money to purchase it.

 

9. What was your time on set like shooting for Milk Wise?

Playing all kinds of sports and getting my photo taken was a perfect day for me. I love being in front of the camera and sports is one of my favorite hobbies. The shoot and crew were fantastic and the shoot ended with a free delivery of an ice cream truck where everyone could pick whatever they wanted- so yum!

 

10. How do you enjoy doing voice over work?

Voice over work is super cool! I really enjoy pretending to be other characters using only my voice. Voice over work has really helped me to see all the different sides to a script.

 

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Acting has definitely changed my life for the better. I’m growing as an actor through each and every script and audition. Being a union actor is a proud accomplishment for me and I feel very fortunate to be a member! #The A-Man 🙂
