2015 – Kobi Polisky

 

Kobi Polisky is a young actor from the Massachusetts/NYC area. He’s been seen in the HBO Mini series Olive Kitteridge and currently has a commercial airing for the Yale New Haven Health System! To keep up to date make sure to like his page on Facebook.

 

1. How did you get started in the industry?

I got started in the industry when I was 4 years old. I kept telling my mom that I wanted to be on the Disney Channel. My mom told me it wasn’t real life and that all the characters of the shows names were not the names they say they were. I learned their real names and still wanted to act. So my mom started researching jobs and I did a college film Wishbone.

2. How did you enjoy filming The Last Halloween?

Filming the Last Halloween was one of my favorite projects because Halloween in my favorite holiday and I got to dress up and go trick or treating and pretend it was Halloween in April.

3. What was your favorite part of working on The Magic of Kids’s Christmas special?

Working on the Magic of Christmas I had so much fun watching the magic tricks and being able to participate in them.

4. What was the experience like filming Olive Kitteredge?

Filming Olive Kitteredge was fun to see how a big motion picture operates however there is a lot of waiting around.

5. How did you feel seeing your Southwick Zoo commercial for the first time?

When I saw my Southwick Zoo Commercial on TV it was so exciting. So much fun to see myself on tv. It was not the first time I had seen myself on tv, but it is always fun and silly.

6. Did you do anything special to prepare for your role of Young Frank in Mail.Man?

I did not have any lines for young Frank (which I have not seen yet) I had to practice being sad. It was my first real dramatic role and I had never had to show emotion.

7. What was it like attending the premiere for Permanent?

I love attending premieres. Permanent was the second premiere that I have attended and it was so exciting. Love getting dressed up, I love seeing all my friends, love the hype and people taking pictures. I love it all. SO much fun!

8. How did you enjoy working on your Yale New Haven Health System commercial?

I have had the opportunity to work on two commercials for Yale New Haven Health and the crew on these sets have been amazing. They are a lot of fun and really know how to work with children. They are very organized and keep it moving so I do not have to sit around.

9. Who have been some of your favorite people to work with?

Wow has been some of my favorite people to work with so far. Hmm that is a tough question. I have met so many wonderful people in this industry both adults and kids and have made so many friends. I will saw the owner of Southwick Zoo is an amazing person and taught my a lot about the zoo and how she raised the animals in her home.

10. What has been your favorite project to work on so far?

I have really liked so many of the projects that I have worked on thus far and the opportunities that I have had. So had to say which my favorite was, but I may have to say the Hasbro commercial that aired last year during the holidays because it was the first time I saw myself on tv, also The Last Halloween because I love Halloween.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

One thing I can add was my biggest disappointment in this business so far. Besides not getting picked for projects when you go on auditions (which is the business) I was very upset when I was cast for 2 scenes in the movie Black Mass with Johnny Depp and I had gone in for my fitting for my costume (so exciting). Then the night before I was supposed to shoot my first scene I was getting ready to go to bed early because we had a very early call time and my mom got a phone call from casting and I had to be cut because I was not 6 yet. I was 2 weeks away from being 6. They had known this information and still cast me so I was very upset.
