2014 – Hope Springer

 

Hope Springer is a young actress/model from the New York City area. Since her start in modeling in 2013 she has been seen for Joe Fresh, LittleMissMatched, and you have most likely seen one of her multiple campaigns for GAP in stores all over the world! 1. How did you get started in the industry?

I have been a theater actress since I was 7. (I am 11 now.) I started off doing a community theater show one summer and I loved it! That September I went to an open call at a large regional theater near where I live. It was for A Christmas Carol. I went to a bunch of auditions and I got the role of Belinda Cratchit, the second largest speaking role for children! From there I did a few more shows, and I was even in an opera with Opera New Jersey! The summer when I was 10 is was taking a break from theater as I worked for many months. My mom sent my photo into a few modeling agencies in New York City. Some of them called me and I went for interviews. We decided on Generation Model Management.

2. What was it like shooting for Target Canada?

It was fun! The day I was there it was almost all redheads! Even the adult model there was a redhead. The funny thing is, I shot by myself. But when the photos came out in the flyer, I am standing with a boy behind me. He wasn’t there with me!

3. Do you have a favorite part of working for Joe Fresh?

Joe Fresh was my very first job! I met my best friend Zuzanna Tarnacki on that shoot! I also met little Emma Martelli. I got to help Stefano shoot Emma because she wouldn’t go on set unless I went with her. It was fun to help. I still see Emma a lot. All the clothes were so cute, too!

4. How did you enjoy shooting for Stage Stores?

Stage Stores is fun because everyone is so nice. I have worked for them a few times but my favorite was the holiday shoot. We got to play with fake snow and blow it all over!

5. What is the best part of working for LittleMissMatched?

Everything!! My friends Abby and Peyton were there with me and it was all day! We got to model SO MANY outfits and they had cool accessories like notebooks and backpacks. They even had a bike on set! I love the Hi/Bye leggings.

6. Do you have a favorite GAP shoot that you’ve done?

I think my favorite shoot was for the video for the Spring 2014 campaign. I got to shoot it with Zuzanna and we got to jump on a huge trampoline and just be silly together. They had us do all kinds of funny things. They had a really good snack table at that shoot, too!

7. How cool was it seeing your posters up for the first time?

That was CRAZY!! The first time I saw them was in a store in New York. There was a picture of me taller than my house! We went in the store to see more and all the employees came over to meet me. That was fun. It’s weird to see them. But weird in a good way.

8. How do you feel seeing photos of your GAP images in stores around the world?

It is the coolest thing ever. People from all over the world will tag me in photos they took standing with my Gap posters. It’s really nice of them to take the time to do that. It’s weird to think people in all different countries know who I am. I feel like I am just a regular kid.

9. Who have been some of your favorite people to work with?

Zuzanna, of course is one! We have so much fun when we get to shoot together. I love to shoot with Lee Clower because he is very funny and lets us have fun. Gap shoots are always fun because there are always a lot of kids and everyone hangs around together when they aren’t shooting. The kid wranglers always are nice, too!

10. What has been your favorite project to work on so far?

I like to shoot the videos, even though I think they are hard. Those are long long days of shooting for such a short video! It’s so fun to see what the final result looks like!

Is there anything else you would like to add?

I am an animal activist. I have my own website and Facebook page called My Hope for Animals. I make dog bandanas and cat nip pillows to raise money for animal shelters. I am on my science competition team at school. I also play soccer.
