2014 – Jamie McRae

 

Jamie McRae is a young actress from the Los Angeles area. Since our Q&A with her last year, Jamie has been busy working on Kiddie Litter, playing Wilbur in a production of Charlotte’s Web, and you have likely seen her Eggo commercial on TV! 1. What was the best part of filming your Eggo commercial?

The best part of the Eggo commercial was when we were working with the green screen. They actually built a set in front of my eyes! I also ate a lot of Eggo waffles.

2. How did you feel when you found out you got cast as Wilbur in a production of Charlotte’s Web?

I felt great that I was cast as Wilbur. I love the story Charlottes Web, and my favorite animal is a pig! I was very excited to be back on the stage. The rest of the cast was a fantastic support and I became close friends with a lot of them!

3. How did you prepare for your role?

I prepared by rehearing everyday. I also watched the behavior of pigs, including their habitat and the way they moved. I watched all of these videos so I could be the best Wilbur that I could be.

4. What was opening night like?

Knowing that the theater was sold out brought the energy of everyone higher. When I walked out on the stage, for the curtain call, I got a standing ovation. I never expected it!

5. How did you enjoy working on Kiddie Litter?

It was wacky all the way. It was a fun experience to have because children aren’t known as being raised as cats!

6. What was the experience like doing the Second City pilot reading?

It was really exciting to meet the fun and talented cast. Working with Second City was a blast and I can’t wait to go back again.

7. What has been your favorite song that you’ve done a cover for?

My favorite cover that I have done before must be Good Morning. That is a song from a long time ago, that has so much character. I also like singing songs from the past because people don’t usually expect it.

8. How did you feel when you saw your Wii U commercial on television for the first time?

I felt like I had to get one! (A Wii U) Before filming, we were using it for a long time and it was really fun. The cast and crew was so much fun to work with.

9. Who have been some of your favorite people to work with this year?

My favorite people to work with this year would be the cast of Charlottes Web. I have made really close friends and since then, we all have stayed in touch.

10. What has been your favorite project to work on this year?

I love all of the projects that I am involved with. I have been auditioning a lot and I hope that I will meet another fantastic cast soon!

This is a quote that Inspires me: Acting isn’t abput preteding to be the character, it is about becoming the character
