2014 – Hailey Medina

 

Hailey Medina is a young actress from the New York area. Since our last Q&A with her she has been busy doing voice over work for Canada Dry and performing in numerous local productions throughout the year. 1. How did you react when you found out you booked the Canada Dry voice over?

I was super excited and love doing voice over work.

2. What was the experience like working on the project?

The Canada Dry recording day was great. I met wonderful people and had lots of fun.

3. How did you prepare for your role of Mrs. Trenkler in the production The Legend of Sleepy Hollow?

Preparing for scripts such as Mrs. Trenkler’s character I focus on memorization, facial expressions, and a variation of vocal expressions.

4. What was the best part of performing at the Patriots game with your Chorus Group?

The best part of performing at the patriot’s game was being able to see all the smiling faces as I looked into the crowd. Its also always comforting to see my supportive family who is at all of my productions.

5. What was the experience like taking part in your performance of All Shook Up?

Being apart of All Shook Up was spectacular, it helped me grow as an actress and make lots of great friends.

6. Do you have a special audition song you use when auditioning for various productions?

Audition songs vary depending on the role, and the vocal range of your character. I also keep a songbook with my top favorites.

7. What is one of the funniest things to have happened during the rehearsal of one of your performances this past year?

This past year I’ve worked on a few musical theater productions, which have involved older cast members, and after the shows everyone always goes out for a bite to eat. Since I’m one of the youngest and am not old enough to drive, my mom and dad still drop me off and pick me up. My fellow cast members think its cute-however I think its funny and obviously a little annoying for a young teen.

8. Now that you are in high school is there a particular play/musical you hope your school puts on?

I love Grease, Wicked and my all time favorite musical- Hairspray. However, I just love being on stage singing, acting and dancing so I’ll continue to perform whenever and wherever I can!

9. Who have been some of your favorite people to work with this year?

Dropping names is not my thing. I’m thankful for all the wonderful people I meet and get a chance to work with and learn from.

10. What has been your favorite performance/project you’ve done this year?

All my past projects have been awesome. There is something special in all of them and memory is forever apart of me!
