2014 – Olivia Sanabia

 

Olivia Sanabia is a young actress from Los Angeles. She has been seen on The Birthday Boys, in commercials for Build a Bear, Ford, My Little Pony, and more! Olivia will be on Sam & Cat tomorrow night and to keep up to date make sure to like her page on Facebook!

 

1. How did you get started in the industry?

I got started three years ago, I had begged my mom for a really long time to let me be in the business, after lots of singing and musical theater and people saying I’d be great at it, she finally set up an agent meeting, and I was ecstatic. After that first agent meeting they signed me across the board and I have been auditioning & working ever since.

 

2. What was your first booking?

My first booking was a print job for Frigidaire with Jennifer Garner. It shot at Smash Box Studios in North Hollywood and was such a great experience. Jennifer Garner was so nice and a pleasure to work with. I also met some great friends that day!

 

3. What was the experience like working on the Let Your Light Shine music video?

My experience was Awesome. It was a three day shoot in Hermosa Beach. In this music video I really got to become a different character, as I was part of the group of girls doing the bullying. The song deals with bullying which I have actually been through myself. I got to meet lots of new friends and see friends that I have worked with before.

4. Do you have a favorite part of shooting The Birthday Boys?

Shooting the Birthday Boys was fun, it was a two day shoot. My favorite part was the crazy scene where my dad was having a bbq with his friends and leaving his family out, I had to make a facial expression that I thought my dad was acting ridiculous. The Birthday Boys are a bunch of funny guys and I had worked with Jefferson Dutton, one of The Birthday Boys & the director of this episode on a short film.

 

5. What was the shoot for your Ford commercial like?

Shooting the Ford commercial was a blast. We shot it in an old Macy’s building which was so cool to be in. The set was decorated just like Christmas time. My character was very mature, which is similar to me. I got to sit on Santa’s lap and ask him for a Ford Fusion and then Santa’s reaction was so funny when he hears me ask for a car. Between takes we laughed and Santa and the elf were hilarious. From the talented actors to the awesome crew everyone made it a great day!

 

6. Do you have a favorite role you’ve played in a theater production?

My favorite role was playing “Annie” in the show Annie at the historic Grove Theater. Ever since I was two year old, it was a dream of mine to play Annie. I would sing the full songs and if I was in a talent show, I would always sing “Tomorrow” from “Annie”. When I was eight, I was able to pursue that dream. Hearing the news that I was cast as Annie made me feel like the happiest girl in the world, this a memory that will last in my heart forever!

 

7. How did you enjoy shooting your My Little Pony commercial?

I enjoyed working on the My Little Pony commercials a lot. It was a two day shoot, each day a different commercial. The wardrobe, hair and makeup was spectacular, I felt like a princess! I met lots of fun girls, but one in particular that we had so much fun together. After the long two day shoots the client gave me a few of the toys to keep, that was such a fun bonus on the shoot!

 

8. What was the experience like filming Sam & Cat?

Filming Sam & Cat was a dream come true. I had auditioned for Nickelodeon’s Sam & Cat several times that year. When i finally booked it, I was over the moon. I could hardly wait to shoot it. Jenette McCurdy & Ariana Grande are so talented and fun to work with. This is a show I currently watch so being on the show was amazing, I cant wait until it airs this year.

 

9. Who have been some of your favorite people to work with?

I feel blessed to work each job that I have. Each one brings new faces and new experiences. But I have to say working on the music video “You’re Still here” By Aleigh O’ Sullivan a new artist was amazing. The song is a true story about the loss of the singers sister, I was playing the role of her sister she lost, it is a moving emotional music video and had the opportunity to meet her parents at the premiere of the music video and have stayed in contact them, it has become more to me than just another booking. It is special and I will always look back on this experience.

 

10. What has been your favorite project to work on so far?

My favorite job so far has been working on Sam & Cat. It really was a dream day for me because I had made it a goal of mine that year to book a role on Sam & Cat. I had auditioned over and over…when my manager called with that great news I just couldn’t believe it!

 

Is there anything else you would like to add?

I have a new commercial now airing called Tamagotchi Friends toy commercial airing on Cartoon Network, look out for it! 🙂 Also keep an eye out for me on Sam & Cat!!!!! I would also like to say that without the support, help, and love from my family, I wouldn’t be writing this interview.
