Debbie Mizrachi is a young actress/model from Pennsylvania. She’s done projects in television, web, print and more. Debbie has worked for big name companies including QVC and Totally Me, and you can keep up to date by following her on Twitter and liking her page on Facebook!
1. How did you get started in the industry?
Ever since I was 5 years old I wanted to model and perform on stage as a singer, so my mom signed me up for a pageant, called National American Miss. I won a scholarship to a modeling school and at Nationals 4 years later after I won talent and also Miss PA we met a stylist, Stacie Fitzgerald who’s kids are all models and she introduced me to the industry.
2. What was your first booking?
My first booking in Philadelphia market was about 2 years ago for Rasta Impasta Costumes
My first booking in NY market was a print job last summer for Toy’s R Us “Totally Me”. That was the first time I’ve done the “Totally Me” shoot.
3. What was the best part about shooting for Boscovs?
The best part about this shoot was that I got to work my best friend from the industry. That was our first job together, and it was very exciting.
4. Do you have a favorite costume you shot for Franco American?
Yes! I loved my Kitty Cat costume. I thought it was so cute with the whiskers and my black nose.
5. What was your first thought when you saw yourself on the Totally Me boxes for the first time?
I was so excited!!! I was so happy and I really thought it was cool to see myself on the boxes, but it was my mom who bought the product and brought it home, so the next time we were at TRU together I actually spotted myself on the shelves.
6. Were you nervous at all when filming for QVC? What was the best part of the shoot?
I wasn’t nervous at all, but I never really get nervous when it comes to on stage shows or filming a commercial or short movie. The best part was when I got my hair styled by Chaz Dean, but also I loved making new friends from the cast.
7. What was your favorite part about your Remix the Movies shoot?
I loved everything about it; The cast, the crew, the script. I had a lot of fun shooting that film and the way it turned out.
8. What has been one of the funniest or coolest moments on set for one of your projects?
One of the funniest moments was when I was shooting for Jurassic Park Remix the Movies and instead of saying “When I pray I call G-d Ramona Quimby” I said “When I pray I call G-d chocolate cake”, I never thought they would actually use this line, the crew didn’t stop laughing.
9. Who have been some of your favorite people to work with?
I love everyone I work with, they are always so fun and energized and it most likely becomes a great fun day.
10. What has been your favorite project to work on so far?
I loved filming all my short movies, also I really loved all the fashion shows/runways I have done so far. But my favorite was Finn Jewelry video because I was having fun in the park and I got to ride a beautiful yellow bike around Central Park. Afterwards since they were so generous I got to keep the bike and the pretty dress I was wearing.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
My favorite out of the whole modeling experience is singing. I’ve been singing ever since I was five and whenever I sing I feel like I’m in a different world, and for some reason when I sing I feel like I’m on stage performing live. My dream is to become a famous singer and though I am grateful for all the opportunities that come my way and for the people who are giving me those opportunities (especially my mom and my manager)
I would love to get more opportunities in singing and performing.
We’d like to thank Debbie for participating in this year’s November Q&A series!
