1. How did you get started in the industry?
My mom’s friend kept telling her that she should send my pictures to an agency in Manhattan. She finally did and we met with the agency and they started sending me out. I booked Vogue Bambini Petite Parade within 2 weeks.
2. What was your first booking?
My first booking was Laughing Out Loud Kids Clothing which mommy submitted me for on her own, a few days before we met with the agency. We shot outside by the Federal Reserve in Manhattan. I met my first modeling BFF that day. Her name is Adriana Camposano. Mommy became friends with her Mommy too. It was very cold outside that day, but we had fun anyway.
3. How did you feel when you saw yourself on the Horizon Group toy boxes for the first time?
I only got to see one box in person so far, and it made me happier than anything in the world! I just saw another box online that they put me on, which I didn’t know about. They added paint to my face, even though I never had paint on my face at the photo shoot. It was pretty cool and funny. I really liked shooting Horizon Group because I met a really good friend Aeryn. She is my second model BFF 🙂 Mommy became friends with her mom too and we travel to Connecticut to visit them.
4. What is your favorite part about petitePARADE?
My favorite part is getting dressed and having my makeup done. I love seeing all the pictures after the show. They even put my photograph in a full page editorial in Vogue Bambini Magazine. I was so happy!
5. What was your shoot for the Japanese Corporate video like?
I was in Manhattan on Broadway. We filmed on a corner. It was really really cold that day – it even snowed and it was the Spring! So we had to keep stopping until the snow stopped. We kept going inside a store to keep warm, and when we were outside, they covered me in blankets and kept me toasty warm with hand warmers. The people were very nice to me. Lots of people kept stopping on the street to take pictures of me and watch me film. That was really awesome!
6. Do you have a favorite moment from your Controlled Chaos shoot that was in Child Model Magazine?
I got to shoot with my model BFF Adriana and we had so much fun. In one photo we both pretended to kiss my brother on the cheeks. He made a funny face and we were all grossed out! lol
7. What was the most exciting thing about shooting for Toddlewood?
I got to be on a few different tv shows and was interviewed by E! News. All of my friends and family were so excited to see me on TV. Even my teacher, Ms. Welsh shared the photos of Toddlewood from my website, www.sofiarodriguez.com, with all of my friends at school.
8. What has been one of the funniest or coolest moments on set for one of your projects?
That’s tricky. Really everything because everything is fun to me! I really liked playing Jennifer Lawrence for Toddlewood. There were so many beautiful costumes that were handmade the night before. Tricia was so nice to me. I saw her after that at Vogue Bambini’s Petite Pararde and she remembered me and gave me a big hug.
9. Who have been some of your favorite people to work with?
My favorite people so far are all of the other children who are models and actors. I have made so many friends and I love seeing them at auditions and on set. Mommy tries to make sure that she knows if some of my friends will be at auditions and we try to go at the same time as them so that we can have a playdate too.
10. What has been your favorite project to work on so far?
Definitely Toddlewood because I loved being interviewed by E! News and seeing myself on all different TV stations.
We’d like to thank Sofia for participating in this year’s November Q&A series!
